Inclusion Seekers Inclusion Seekers is a person-centered organization focusing on building inclusive lives and communities.

Inclusion Seekers is a visionary organization working to build better lives for people with disabilities. The data is clear; people with disabilities grow increasingly lonely and isolated as adults. Working with one person and their family at a time, Inclusion Seekers connects people to relationships and uncovers a person's talents and passions - so they can thrive in their communities alongside their neighbors.

You showed up.
You talked.
You smiled.

And still… something felt missing.

Being present isn’t the same as being known.

Belonging grows in the follow-up.
The second invitation.
The “I’m glad you’re here.”

If you’ve felt this, you’re not wrong.

May Challenge: Grow Something

May = growth.

Plant something simple, but make it relational.
A coffee meetup.
A weekly walk.
A standing check-in.

Not everything has to start big. It just has to be tended.

Try it this week. Tell us what you’re growing. 🌸

We are still focused on building real relationships in everyday life.
We are still committed to reducing isolation.
We are still helping people create belonging where they live.

The name is evolving to reflect the full ecosystem of this work.

The heart remains the same.

Connection.
Shared humanity.
Action.

Celebrating Maggie Sheridan 🎉

Maggie is a graduating senior in the Medical Sciences program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and joined us this year to complete her service-learning capstone.

Through this capstone experience, Maggie chose to invest her time in community, connection, and learning alongside others, grounded in her belief that serving people will make her a stronger, more compassionate practitioner in the medical field.

Congrats and well done, Maggie! 👏

April Inclusion Seekers Challenge: Rewrite the Script

We all have patterns.

Who we gravitate toward.
What we talk about.
Where we spend our time.
When we choose to step in or step away.

This month, gently interrupt your own routine.

Choose one small way to show up differently.

Stay longer.
Ask a real question.
Introduce someone.
Follow up the next day.

Belonging often begins when someone breaks the script.

If you try this, pay attention to what changes.

In January, one family decided to host a Community Project in their backyard.

For a long time, inviting others felt risky.
Hosting had always been just for family.

But they said yes.
Yes to neighbors.
Yes to games and s’mores.
Yes, even with nerves.

That night, they watched their kids play with everyone.
They saw confidence growing.
They realized they had the gift of hosting.

It wasn’t just a gathering.

It was a shift from hesitation to belonging.

Community Projects aren’t about perfection.
They’re about one brave step toward connection.

If you’ve been wondering what starting a Community Project could look like, this is where to start.

For the past several months, people have been gathering to explore what it really means to build connection in everyday life.

We have reflected on belonging.
We have asked honest questions.
We have learned from one another.

If you care about building real relationships in your community, this space is for you.
You do not need expertise.
You do not need the right words.
You simply need a willingness to listen and learn alongside others.

Big questions. Real life impact.

This week, Tim is in Rhode Island for Inclusion Seekers: Community Support for Our Big Questions, alongside partner Ken Renaud founder of IN2U Relationships and sponsored by Rhode Island Developmental Disabilities Council RIDDC

“How can neighbors help someone land a job?... find a place to live?... develop a plan for a meaningful life beyond school?... build connections with each other over years?”

These are the questions guiding the work and the conversations happening right now.

We’re having a blast learning together and exploring new, innovative ways communities can show up for each other.
