🎉 Today, American Legacy Theatre turns 10. 🎉

For 10 years, artists, audiences, students, partners, and supporters have come together to create theatre that sparks conversation, builds empathy, and amplifies voices.

This anniversary celebrates everything we've built together and the stories still to come. Join us as we build the next chapter of ALT.

“With the full three-act staged reading of Clos(in)g by Megan Benjamin Bennett, ALT continues to demonstrate why its Playwrights for Change residency is one of the most important artistic incubators in Cincinnati theatre right now.”
— League of Cincinnati Theatres

Through Playwrights for Change, ALT supports the development of new original works with staged readings, workshops, and collaboration.

Some of ALT's most meaningful work has started in rehearsal rooms like this one — through collaboration, experimentation, staged readings, music rehearsals, and conversations that continue shaping the work long after the first draft.

That process is at the heart of ALT’s Playwrights for Change residency, where artists develop new original works like Bridge City, Higher, and Clos(in)g.

ALT turns 10 this year. ❤️

For the past decade, we’ve created original theatre, classroom residencies, student performances, and community programs throughout Greater Cincinnati.

This work has always been about people: students finding their voices, artists building new work, and communities coming together through storytelling.

As we look ahead to the next chapter, we’re inviting you to help sustain this work through monthly giving. A monthly gift of $10 helps support new plays, classroom programs, accessible performances, and the artists who make them possible.

We’re excited for what comes next.
