Our volunteer board has made the difficult decision to step down and pause all operations for the AIGA Cincinnati chapter.

We love our Cincy Creative Community, and Cincinnati Design Week will continue to live on thanks to community support outside of AIGA Cincinnati.

Coming up this week, Graphic Village has their final installment of their GV Print Innovation Labs series—Pressing Matters: Inside the World of Printing Technologies happening this Thursday, October 17th from 4-5:30pm. Unlike previous GV events, this session takes you out of the classroom setting and onto the GV production floor for an up-close look at the equipment behind professional print production.

Not to brag—but Design for Good is Jacinda’s area of expertise 💅🏾. You may remember Jacinda from her presentations at previous Midwest Design Week events during the pandemic, but for those who haven’t—you’re in for a treat! Jacinda’s work for her local community in Cleveland and beyond has been incredible. All of her research around the demographics of the design profession, highlighting designers in underrepresented communities, and all of the work she does in reaching out to young students through truly embodies this year’s theme of Design for Good. We are so excited to have her in the Queen City (and you might even catch her at another CDW event if you’re lucky 👀).

Dr. Jacinda N. Walker is a leading advocate for diversity in design. As founder and creative director of , she has empowered over 7,800 young people nationwide to explore design careers. Her Experiential Learning Center (ELC), a 1,800-square-foot space, offers marginalized students a unique launchpad for their design careers. Equipped with diverse mentorship, cutting-edge technology, and real-world projects, the ELC helps aspiring creative students transition from the classroom into the workforce. As an advocate for young people, Jacinda proudly mentors several design students on portfolio presentations, professional development, and career planning. Her research on “Design Journeys” has been groundbreaking, offering practical solutions to increase diversity in the profession. With a passion for design, education, and mentorship, Dr. Walker is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and equitable future for design.
