The Naval Medical Center San Diego and the C5 Program invites you to attend
the 3rd annual PROJECT C.A.R.E. Symposium.

This year's theme is "Healing the Scars of the Wounded and Traumatically
Injured." The symposium will provide an unsurpassed opportunity to gain
insights into the treatment of traumatic scars from a variety of
perspectives. Healthcare providers and administrators spanning all
disciplines seeking to improve therapy and advance scar research in both the
military and civilian arenas are welcome to attend. Course Directors CDR
Peter Shumaker and CDR Nathan Uebelhoer have invited top luminaries from a
variety of disciplines including Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedics,
and Otolaryngology. Support speakers are provided by the generosity of the
Gene Vance Jr. Foundation.

The Symposium will be held 19 - 21 September in San Diego, California at the
Hilton Mission Valley. A maximum of 24 CME credits will be awarded to
attendees.

Nana's Wish was able to help and support a little boy named Corey in getting his Buddy Bike!. Cory is 11 years old from Montana and was diagnosed with Duchenes Muscular Dystrophy at age 8-1/2. His family and community are planning a bike ride to Washington DC to bring awaress about Duchenes Muscular Dystrophy. It was Cory's dream to have a Buddy Bike so he and his mom can participate in the ride to DC. Now he can =) Please take a moment to watch Corey's story.. Buddy Bikes are custom made tandem bicycles that fit the needs of the disabled child and their parent.. These bikes cost over $1800 and thanks to all of your support and donations, we have been able to help not just Corey but other children and families as well. Nana's Wish is a proud partner of Buddy Bikes and we have been very fortunate to help familes all over the world. Thanks to our partnership, Nana's Wish has been given World Wide exposure and Sean and I are very proud of what we've accomplished thus far.. One of the things that I inherited from Nana is my passion to cook for people. Whatever the reason it always brings a smile to someone's face. That expression of grattitude not only makes me feel happy but we're also making a memory at the same time. And that's what its all about.. This is one of the reasons we created this cookbook. With that being said, summertime is almost here. Perfect time for family cookouts, getherings and fiestas.. This book is filled with so many family recipes from all cultures and would be perfect for any occassion. $20 and all proceeds go to Nana's Wish for at-risk kids and caretakers of the elderly..
