Community Cats TNR Community Cats TNR is a 501(c)(3) organization founded to help the local stray and feral cats. Our volunteers are not paid. Our funds are strictly donations.

TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)
We are currently working in the City of Christopher but hope to work in nearby towns in the future. We have a passion to help prevent unwanted kittens from being born, which will reduce the feral/stray cat population. We are not funded by the city, state or federal government. The more donations we raise, the more cats we can spay and neuter.

Today we released Momma back to her neighborhood. She is the first kitty from this new colony. We are halfway to our goal of 26 cats in 2026

Smoke was released back to her colony on 8.12.26 after being spayed. She was definitely ready to return to her habitat! Smoke is part of a fourth colony we are working on.
She is #12 of our goal of 26 this year!

We released Virginia on 8.12.26 to her colony after having her spayed. Virginia is TNR #11 for 2026. As you can see, she is pretty friendly. She is not feral but is a stray and part of another colony that we are currently working on in Northern Christopher.

We are often asked to remove cats or to help find them homes. Community Cats TNR is not a licensed rescue and removing feral cats will not solve the cat problem. There is a reason that feral cats colonize and when you remove them, more will move in right after. This is called The Vacuum Effect.

THANK YOU to all of our Christmas in July donors! We only had 2 days that went unsponsored. We raised $515!! That means we will be able to spay/neuter 4 cats! 4 cats can easily multiply into 20 cats in just 3 short months and then those 20 cats turn into 80-100, and it goes on and on. Donors, YOU, are making a difference in Christopher, IL. Caregivers, YOU, are also making a difference (fed and cared for cats, reduce sickness and cat vandals)

3:15 PM Update: THANK YOU DONORS! We now only have 9 days left!! Calendar is updated as of 3:15 PM 7.31.26

Today is our last day for our Christmas in July fundraiser. We are incredibly thankful for our donations of $240. We haven't reached our goal of $1282 but we will continue to raise money throughout the year to make up for it.
It cost us an average of $130 per cat thanks to our generous vets, helping to offset our cost. If you can't sponsor a day but could donate $5, it will collectively help to reduce the feral/stray cat population. Every $1 matters just as every cat matters!
