A little about this page and our hopes for Asher's Animals.

This page is in honor of our son, Asher, was in a tragic accident May 8 who passed away on the 18th from the injuries from his accident. He loved a lot of things but one of his favorites were stuffed animals. He had hundreds and always was wanting more. During our time at the hospital, we had many family members and friends visit every day. They all spent much time in the Ronald McDonald room at the hospital on the 5th floor. Many of Asher's friends and family truly were comforted when they were able to take a stuffed animal home with them. It gave them some comfort during the very difficult time. Each child still cherishes the animals they got very much. As a family, we wanted to do something in his honor to give back to the hospital and that room and I was immediately called find a way to collect stuffed animals to donate. We have started the Asher's Animals drive. It began with our neighborhood and we also had donations during his Celebration of Life. Declan, Asher's 13-year-old brother, had a drive at his school. We have collected hundreds of animals. We are just wanting to do something to honor Asher and keep his memory alive and that would make Asher smile from his seat in Heaven. We know how much it can mean to other boys and girls during incredibly hard times. I was wondering how we could go about getting these animals to the appropriate people so they can be donated to the Ronald McDonald room as well as wherever any other need is.

Donor Tribute: Asher Sullivan

"Asher was a 10 year old fourth-grade student in Christiana, Tennessee. He passed as a result of injuries sustained while playing with friends during a severe weather accident in May 2024. Asher was a selfless kid who had an amazing sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. He was most proud of his lizard Leo, his stuffed animals and visiting all 50 states. He even broke his collarbone at the 50th state we visited, Alaska.

Asher absolutely loved his family, and his big brother, Declan, was his hero. Some of our favorite memories together involved travelling to national parks and visiting different states. We are also avid Vanderbilt Commodore fans, and we enjoyed going to all athletic events. As Vanderbilt fans, Asher despised the University of Tennessee and actually got in trouble at school for refusing to sing Rocky Top during choir class.

Kaycee, Asher’s mom, has been a lifelong proponent of organ donation. Once we knew that Asher was not going to survive his injuries, it was an immediate decision to donate his organs. Asher always wanted to help anyone no matter who they were and this choice describes Asher’s personality and heart perfectly. Asher had a birth mark on his right upper arm that resembled a heart, and we always said he wore his heart on his sleeve. Even in death, Asher was showing that big heart for others."

In honor of Asher's memory, Kaycee began Asher’s Animals, a program that collects stuffed animals to be donated to hospitals, and its 2nd Annual Donation Drive begins today! 💙💚

Starting this Monday, February 9, we will be doing our second annual Asher’s Animals stuffed animal donation drive honoring Asher’s birthday which is February 12. He would be turning 12 this year. The support last year was phenomenal and we are hopeful that this year will be bigger and better.

The drive accepts any BRAND NEW with tags stuffed animal donation that is small to medium sized. We will be running the drive until Monday, February 16. Below are the locations available for drop off. Please be aware of business hours for the locations you choose to drop off to as they all vary. If you would rather ship them directly, you can ship them to 1107 Rhonda Dr. Christiana, TN 37037.

Thank you all again for the overwhelming support. We are looking forward to seeing how many stuffed animal friends we can collect and take them to those in need so we can bring smiles in honor of Asher!! 💚💙💚💙

Good morning! We are gearing up for our second annual Asher’s Animals donation drive next week. I have a couple of drop off locations for donation boxes but would love to secure a couple more. Tennessee family creates 'Asher's Animals' to honor 10-year-old son who died after storm drain accident, donating stuffed animals to hospitalized children.

Yesterday, Asher’s Animals donated 80 stuffed animals to Portico. They will be placed under their Christmas tree and patients can choose one to take home. We donated animals for this same cause last year and loved that it was so well received that they asked us to bring them again this year.

Yesterday, I was honored to be asked to set up a table at the Tennessee Grief Conference hosted by ALIVE hospice. I brought about 150 animals to hand out to attendees who are professionals who work with children and adults during very difficult times. I met so many wonderful people and shared Asher’s story and the story about how Asher’s animals was started. I hope to continue to work with many of these services in the future.

Asher’s animals had the honor of joining Christiana Elementary school today for reading in the schools day. Using a random drawing, I handed out 25 Asher’s Animals to students to be their reading buddies at home. Christiana Elementary will always hold such a special place in our hearts and I am so honored to share Asher’s Animals with the boys and girls there.

Asher’s animals was able to bless more children today.

First stop was about 50 animals to the littles at Christiana Elementary Pre-k and a kindergarten class. These animals will serve these children as their “reading buddies” at home. Christiana holds a special place in our hearts as this is where both boys spent so many years learning and growing.

Second stop was to Central Magnet School with roughly 30 animals. These animals will become part of the 6th grade stores where kids can earn money throughout their classes and then “buy” them at the stores. Central is where Declan has been since 6th grade and we are so blessed to be able to donate to them! The bigger kids love the stuffies just as much as the tiny kiddos!
