Did you know?

There are more than 300 Villages across the country, and Village Neighbors of Chincoteague Island is part of the WAVE group, which includes Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Last week I attended the WAVE (Washington Area Villages Exchange) Conference where Villages came together for a full day of discussion, collaboration, and idea‑sharing.

It was inspiring to hear how other Villages support their members, strengthen volunteer networks, and plan for the future. We left with fresh ideas, renewed energy, and a shared commitment to making our Village the best it can be.

Looking forward to bringing these ideas home and continuing to grow Village Neighbors for our community.

Join Village Neighbors for a lighthearted detective session as we dive into this month’s **Dear Holmes** mystery, *The Mysterious Mutual Friend*.

This curious case begins with an anonymous letter from someone who seems to know far more about a small community than he should. His sharp observations, unsettling warnings, and unclear motives raise the question: is he a helpful confidant, a meddling gossip, or someone hiding a deeper secret?

📍 Island Community House
📅 Tuesday, October 20
⏰ 10 AM–12 PM

We’ll read the case together, compare clues, and see if we can uncover the true identity of the “mutual friend.”

All levels are welcome, and you’re invited to bring a friend who might enjoy joining us.
