Please join us in welcoming Geraldino to his forever home at Gray Muzzle Project. 🤍🐾

Geraldino has already lived through a lot in his life. He came from a hoarding situation and eventually made his way through a shelter and rescue before arriving safely at the sanctuary.

When we learned Geraldino needed a place to land, our incredible community stepped up. Because of donor support, we were able to provide transport, food, and the resources needed to welcome him into our care.

Geraldino also suffers from severe food allergies that once left his skin painful, inflamed, and infected. Thankfully, he is now stable, healing, and finally has a place where his needs can be carefully managed for the rest of his days.

Right now, our focus is helping Geraldino settle into sanctuary life with patience, comfort, and lots of love. His immediate needs include special treats, toys, immune-support supplements, and high-quality food to help him continue thriving. As we get to know him better, we'll continue fine-tuning his long-term care plan. Geraldino requires a very specific diet to stay healthy — beef is his only protein source, while poultry and fish are completely off the menu. He will also need ongoing supplements and allergy support moving forward.

Despite everything he's been through, Geraldino's personality is already starting to shine. He loves sleeping under the covers, may not know exactly what a leash is yet, and packs plenty of personality into his 9-pound frame. 🐶 Thank you to everyone who helped make Geraldino's rescue possible. Your support gave this sweet senior the chance to start a new chapter surrounded by safety, stability, and compassion.

With excellent care and a whole lot of love, we can't wait to watch Geraldino shine. We'll keep you posted every step of the way. 🤍

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent sanctuary work parties! 🤍🐾

Because of your hard work, we were able to refresh gardens, repaint entryways and fences, improve the pathway to the dogs' exercise area, and create an even more beautiful space for the senior dogs who call Gray Muzzle Project home.

Most importantly, our dogs received plenty of extra love, attention, and enrichment throughout the day.

A special thank you to the Community Tool Library for loaning us the tools that helped make these projects possible. As a small non profit we stretch our dollars as much as possible and this helped cut costs!

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our volunteers, community partners, and everyone who helps us continue providing comfort, dignity, and lifelong care to these special dogs.

We truly couldn't do it without you. 🤍

Becoming a Hero means more than making a donation. 🤍🐾

It means helping us say yes when a senior dog needs us most.

At Gray Muzzle Project, every dog who enters our sanctuary receives individualized hospice support for the rest of their life: medications, diagnostics, mobility support, specialized nutrition, comfort care, enrichment, and a safe place to land.

But sustainable rescue requires sustainable funding.

Right now, we are working toward welcoming another senior dog into our care. The reality is that monthly donors give us the stability and confidence to make those decisions thoughtfully instead of from a place of fear or uncertainty.

Hero Program members help create:
🤍 consistent medical care
🤍 daily support and nutrition
🤍 long-term hospice planning
🤍 future rescues and sanctuary growth

Even small monthly gifts make a meaningful difference because they allow us to plan ahead and continue building this work sustainably.

We intentionally started small, but our hope is to continue growing so more senior dogs can receive the comfort, dignity, and lifelong care they deserve.

If you’ve been looking for a way to directly support this mission, becoming a monthly Hero is one of the most impactful ways to help. 🤍 Please visit https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=5HT2YHTRCV8X8 to become a Hero today.

With love,

Good morning Gray Muzzle Family. 🩶🩺
There's a new little guy that needs our help. 🐾Gerald is a senior mutt who came from a hoarding situation in terrible condition. He suffers from severe food allergies and his skin was infected, bleeding, and painful. He's stabilized now and much healthier, but needs a long-term place to go that can accommodate specific dietary needs for the rest of his days, ensuring he never has to endure this again.

Here's how you can help? 🩷
🐾The trip to retrieve Gerald in his remote location is a 6 hour drive. Can you donate $50 to offset fuel costs and sponsor his trip home?
🐾Gerald requires a home cooked Beef diet and ongoing supplements to keep him healthy. We estimate this could cost at least $100 per month. Can you donate to offset the costs?

Please visit to donate to Gerald's rescue: https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=5HT2YHTRCV8X8 to donate, and we'll keep you updated if/when we are able to bring this guy home and into our forever care 🏠

Thanks in advance for the support!

What happens when love is no longer enough? 🤍🐾

This week, we said goodbye to our beautiful girl Darlin.

One of the hardest parts of hospice work is knowing that love alone cannot stop aging, disease, or the body from slowly letting go. But what love can do is make sure a dog never has to face those moments alone.

Darlin was deeply loved here.

As her mobility declined and her body became more tired, our focus shifted fully toward comfort, dignity, support, and reducing suffering. Every decision we made for her came from a place of compassion and commitment to her quality of life.

This is the sacred and heartbreaking responsibility we take on when we say yes to hospice care.

To walk beside them all the way to the end.
To listen when their body tells us it is time.
To carry their pain so they no longer have to.

Darlin leaves behind a space that cannot be filled, but we are endlessly grateful we were able to give her safety, softness, and love during this chapter of her life. She gave so much in return 🩷

Run free, sweet girl. 🤍

Join us for a beautiful day celebrating dogs, gardens, and community at Heronswoof 2026 🌿🐾

On Saturday, June 6th, Heronswood Garden is hosting a relaxed, dog-friendly community event filled with live music, vendors, treats, garden walks, raffles, and more — with proceeds from the raffle benefiting The Gray Muzzle Project. 🤍

This is one of our favorite kinds of events: low-key, joyful, community-centered, and full of people who love dogs and nature in equal measure.

Bring your pup, explore the gardens, enjoy some summer fun, and help support senior dogs in hospice sanctuary care.

It's $5 Friday and today we celebrate how a little can go a long way!
Big wins for Titan 🤍🐾

When Titan first arrived at the sanctuary, he was weak, emaciated, and struggling from untreated illness. Today, thanks to consistent care and a whole lot of patience, we’re beginning to see small but meaningful progress every day.

More confidence.
More strength.
A softer coat.
Better digestion.
A little more weight on the scale.
A dog beginning to feel safe again.

Titan’s journey is a reminder that hospice care is often about the little things — steady routines, nutritious meals, medications given with care, frequent check-ins, and the time it takes to rebuild trust and comfort.

His needs are ongoing, but so is our commitment to him. 🤍

Every donation helps us continue providing the consistency and individualized care dogs like Titan rely on every single day.

Why do we sometimes pause intakes? 🤍🐾
One of the questions we get asked most often is how many dogs we can take in at The Gray Muzzle Project.

The truth is: rescue is deeply connected to capacity.

Every dog who comes into our care requires individualized support — medications, specialized nutrition, mobility assistance, veterinary care, emotional support, enrichment, and a safe environment designed around their unique needs.

We intentionally started small because we wanted to build a sanctuary model rooted in thoughtful, sustainable care.

Over the last year, we’ve welcomed 6 senior dogs into the program and committed to supporting them for life. We’re incredibly proud of the care we’ve been able to provide so far — but we also know there are many more dogs who deserve this kind of support.

Our hope is to continue growing over time so we can help even more senior dogs receive comfort, dignity, and lifelong care.

But growth requires resources.

Right now, our ability to expand is directly connected to consistent funding from individual donors, ongoing commitment of time from our dedicated volunteers, and community support. Monthly giving helps create the stability needed to plan ahead, say yes to future dogs, and continue building this program sustainably. This continues to be the best way people can show up for us 🩷

We’re still a young organization, and we’re learning and growing every day as we continue shaping what this sanctuary can become.

This is only the beginning, and we’re so grateful to everyone helping us build something lasting. 🤍

Every donor, volunteer, share, and kind word helps move this mission forward.

With gratitude,
The Gray Muzzle Project Team 🩺🐾🩷
