A page dedicated to keeping students, parents and Chillicothe residents informed about Illinois Valley Central Athletics and their Athletic Booster Club. It is with sadness that I am informing you that I have resigned from my position as the President of the IVC Ghost Boosters. My job has me out of town quite often, which doesn't give me much time with my family, let alone the booster club. On the
same token, my husband Josh, is managing 100% of the household as well as his responsibilities outside of the home. Therefore, he is unable to continue to manage the concession stand. We have been seeking new leadership for the booster club for a number of months now and have not been successful. The lack of a booster club will mean many things to the student athletes, parents, fans and the school. It will mean that there is no extra money being raised for the athletic programs to provide their seasonal stipends. It means that the boys/girls soccer, football and track may not have concessions. It means that the school will have to pay the remaining bill for the new scoreboards. It will mean that the athletic letters and pins that are awarded will have to be purchased by the school. In a time that many schools are functioning in the red, our school district cannot afford to have the additional expenses for things such as letters and pins, shirts, new uniforms, overnight stays for tournaments or charter buses for the drive to state tournaments for the athletes. I will make one final plea to the membership base for parents to step in and not let the booster club fold. Please contact me immediately if you or your spouse are willing to take on a leadership role with the club. We are in desperate need of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and concessions manager. It's been fun. Sincerely,
