Congratulations to these 2022 Teachers of the Year and the Beacon Award winners from the Chillicothe R-2 buildings. CEF President Ed Douglas and Chillicothe Superintendent Dr. Dan Wiebers recognized the award winners this morning at the annual assembly to kick off the second semester.

Special recognition to the 2022 Beacon Award Winner Chris Shearer from Field Elementary, and the 2022 Teacher of the Year Winner Reid Stephens from Grand River Technical School. The Chillicothe Educational Foundation is proud to sponsor these awards and recognitions each year!

Chillicothe Education Foundation Awards Fall 2021 Mini-Grants

Several Chillicothe R-II staff members received good news this (Wednesday) morning when Superintendent Dr. Dan Wiebers, Chillicothe Education Foundation President Ed Douglas, and CEF Board members Lindy Chapman and Susan Fair surprised them with certificates naming them winners of one of the 2021-22 Mini-Grants.

The Chillicothe Education Foundation funds the mini-grant competition each semester in its commitment to supporting excellence in education. This round of mini-grant winners included 11 awarded applications which totaled $4,418.28 in winnings. The funds from the grants will be used to enhance the classroom experience and upgrade equipment throughout the District.

Superintendent Wiebers expressed his thanks to the Chillicothe Education Foundation and noted that this grant process is always very competitive and the latest installment of entries was no exception. He noted that there were 24 applications for mini-grants this Fall.

“We just have incredible teachers and staff members willing to go the extra mile to make sure our students are thriving in our buildings,” Superintendent Wiebers said. He added, “Thanks to the continuing support of the Chillicothe Education Foundation, our staff can utilize new and different technology and teaching strategies to keep students interested, involved, and excited about learning new things.”

The Chillicothe Education Foundation would like to congratulate the 2020 Teacher of the Year Lisa Rule (CHS) and the 2020 Beacon Award recipient Emmalee Oliver (Dewey)! They are pictured here with CEF President Ed Douglas.

We are proud of all the Teacher of the Year and Beacon Award nominees from the district this year. They will be celebrated at the annual CEF reception that will be held on Wednesday, April 21st at the home of Ed Milbank.
