There are no words to describe how thankful we are of those who have given to Serve Chico. This year for Christmas we were able to bless a family of 7. A total of 5 boys, a mother and a dad. Each of the kids received a couple shirts and a toy of their choice. We were also able to bless the mother and dad with winter coats to stay warm. We finished off our Christmas giving with a gift card to Food Max. The look on their face will never be forgotten, they were so thankful and appreciative for their blessing.

Bellow is a photo of the family we were able to bless.

From all of us at Serve Chico, Merry Christmas!

Hello friends,
Just to fill you in, Travis and I had a wonderful time blessing our family today. They were very thankful and the entire family is great! They have 5 boys and we were able to get them something fun they would enjoy, clothes, food, and a gift certificate to Food Maxx. Our friends Food not Bombs even gave us some food to give to them. The boys helped us unload the truck and bring everything into their home. It was a blessing for Travis and I to do this and we are grateful that we can serve. Others helped with this project and we are thankful for them too. We took some pictures and will be getting those out soon.
From all of us here at Serve Chico we would like to say: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Hello friends,
It's great to be back. Lot's to go over but in a nut shell here it is; we are still concerned about our friends in the downtown area but we are also wanting to work with the Downtown Business Association in making our beautiful plaza a fun and safe place to enjoy, along with the downtown area in general. We have a great Idea we are working on and there will be more on that later. For now, we have an opportunity to help a family this Christmas Season. The mom is married and her husband is disabled. They have 5 boys ranging in age from 17 to 10. Myself and the rest of the Leadership will be going out in the morning to do some major shopping for this family. I spoke with the lady and I asked her what the boys wanted/needed. I would like to get them a turkey and some other food items to make their Christmas extra special. It will be tight and it will be close, but I believe if we have the chance to show God's love to this family, well, there can be no price placed on the possible outcome of what He can do in and through them. We look forward to the next few days as we buy items, wrap them, and deliver them all in the name of Jesus our Savior!!!
Pray that all goes well and that this family be blessed because someone cared for them enough to say, "you are not alone, God is good and He always provides"!

Blessings,

Morning friends, this Friday will be the same as last week. Meaning, if you feel the need to go downtown and enjoy the evening with our friends, please do. As far as a full SC base camp set up we will connect with the city for a location that is perfect for us. The promoters of the concert book the entire plaza which means we need a neutral location. There are a couple of locations that would work and we should have one of those places locked down to pick up again next week. Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we work this out. Blessings

We want to thank everyone who helps out with Serve Chico every friday. Due to the concert in the park this friday and S.C. leadership changes that have come up such as new jobs being provided for and family priorities we will not be able to serve food this friday. I will still be out downtown this friday night if anyone wants to come out to do ministry in the park with us. I believe we will be accompanied by YWAM as well. Please come out and join us. We will be meeting in the downtown plaza area from 5:30-6:00 pm. If you would like to bring baskets of sandwiches or duffle bags of any type of food please do as we will be able to hand them out downtown to those in need. See you friday!!

So I looked on here and the post I thought I did for last week is not hear! Ug technology.
Last week was awesome, in a nut shell, we started with 6 loaves of bagels that's it. At the end when we got to the plaza, God took those 6 loaves and transformed them into; a crock pot of scrambled eggs, a huge pot of a rice dish and some beef gravy from Scott, another huge pot of a rice dish with chicken in it from Candy, three large dishes of a macaroni dish from Liz, some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hot chocolate, coffee, and water. Hope I got it all! The point is, God is faithful, He is love, He is the great provider of all our needs, He is strength when we are weak, He is Abba Father, He is amazing, He is healer, He is joy in the morning, He is the great listener, He is protector, He is our creator, He is the great teacher, He is the one that sacrificed for you and I, He is God!!!!!
"Ask and you shall receive", we received last week because we believe!

Howdy all, just picked up 6 loaves of bagels from costco's donations, nothing more. I know Candy is making a huge rice dish, to help off set the short supply I will also make a rice dish and egg's in the little crock pot. Shawn is getting bread so we can make PB&J's. It will all work out.
