Timberline Toastmasters Club Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During t

heir journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

New word to learn: depolymerization

The process being used is called depolymerization. It enables lower grade plastics to be broken down and reformed, stripped of its impurities, then rebuilt as good as new into materials used to create food-grade quality PET plastic. Before this process was figured out, lower-grade, non-transparent and colored plastics could not be “upcycled” into bottles.

Thanks to a groundbreaking process called depolymerization, low-grade plastic scooped up from the ocean is being "upcycled" into bottles!

How cool is this!
"Proving that a sigh is not just a sigh, scientists conducted a statistical analysis of listener responses to more than 2,000 nonverbal exclamations known as “vocal bursts” and found they convey at least 24 kinds of emotion. Previous studies of vocal bursts set the number of recognizable emotions closer to 13."

Researchers created an interactive map of all the emotional sounds that humans make.

Way to go, Summer Brown!
Great speech! You made your audience see the project you described, with just words and hand motions.
From starting out less than a year ago, afraid to stand up and even introduce yourself, to presenting a well thought out speech of 5 - 7 minutes!! Such growth!
I'm very proud of you!

Congratulations to the winners of the evening!Ron Egenes, Jack Meeks and Ceasar Salas
