PUBLIC NOTICE: The City of Prichard is opening a Cold Weather Warming Shelter to keep residents safe during extreme cold.

Location:
Ronald K. Davis Safe House
2805 Whistler Street, Prichard, AL 36610

The shelter will open December 29 & 30 at 5:00 p.m. and will close the following mornings at 8:00 a.m. Men, women, and children in need of warm shelter are welcome. Please note that a limited number of shelter beds will be available for women and children only. No identification is required, and transportation assistance may be available for those who need help getting to a shelter. No pets are allowed.

If you need transportation, please contact the Prichard Police Department’s non-emergency line at (251) 452-2211, or call 911 in an emergency. Please share this information to help keep our community safe. For more details, contact our Office of Civic & Cultural Affairs at 251-609-2061.

🎄 ACCEPTING VENDOR APPLICATIONS:

The City of Prichard – Office of Civic & Cultural Affairs is pleased to invite you to participate as a vendor in this year’s Old Historic Whistler Annual Christmas Extravaganza. This festive multi-day celebration will take place on:

Event Dates:
• December 12–14, 2025
• December 19–21, 2025

Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM nightly

Location: Old Historic Whistler Bike Trail, Whistler, Alabama

This year’s Extravaganza will feature carnival midway rides, arts and crafts, the Polar Express Train, holiday vendors, food trucks, Santa’s Workshop, and the Christmas Lights Trail—drawing families and visitors from across the community.

We are currently accepting applications for booth vendors and food trucks:

Vendor Fees:
• Weekend Vendor Fee: $50.00
• Food Truck Fee: $150.00

Your participation provides an excellent opportunity to showcase your products and services during one of the area’s most anticipated holiday events.

On July 19th at 6:00 PM there will be a benefit singing for Christine Grawet at Home Gospel Church, 437 Sanktown Road, McIntosh, AL. Everyone is invited to attend and even sing.

Christine is battling Pancreatic Cancer, and she was recently informed by her insurance company that they will not pay for her to receive treatment at M.D. Anderson (the only facility that’s willing to perform surgery to remove the tumor).

First, I want to thank each and every person that has supported and encouraged me during my campaign for Judge. Recently, a vacancy has become available for a Mobile County District Court Judge. I have submitted my name to the Judicial Commission for consideration. I would truly appreciate your continued prayers in this endeavor.
