𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ❤️

Our youth classes give young dancers the opportunity to learn flamenco from the ground up while developing technique, rhythm, musicality, confidence and stage presence.

𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗼𝘀
Our foundational level for absolute beginners with no previous flamenco experience. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of flamenco technique, rhythm, movement and musical awareness.

𝗝𝗼́𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘀
For continuing students who have completed a few sessions with us or dancers joining us with an existing foundation. We continue building technique while going deeper into compás, movement, understanding cante, choreography and performance skills.

Along the way, our students learn that flamenco is much more than steps. They learn to listen, understand the music, recognize the cante, move with intention and become comfortable expressing themselves on stage.

A look inside our 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗮́ 𝗽𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶́𝗮𝘀 class.

We begin with technique, building the tools that later become part of the dance. Turns, coordination, control, movement across the floor, and the details that help us move with more intention.

Then we bring that work into the 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗮́ 𝗽𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶́𝗮𝘀, we will be learning its structure, technique, compás, and musicality.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲. Everything we practice has a purpose, and little by little, it finds its place within the dance.

A few moments from this week at 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮. ❤️

The bata de cola is one of the most iconic elements of flamenco dance. Learning to move it requires its own technique, and over time, the goal is for the bata to become 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆.

In this class, we begin with the 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗮, exploring how to work with its weight and movement while developing coordination, control, and fluidity.

We introduce essential exercises for walking with the bata, working with it on the floor, directional movements, turns, and the foundations needed to move it with greater ease, precision, and elegance.

This class is designed as an introduction, so 𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱.

Thank you, CBS Chicago, for taking the time to visit our school and learn more about Casa Triana Flamenco. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our story and what we are building with the Chicago community. ❤️

And a very special thank you to the International Latino Cultural Center for the invitation! We are so excited and honored to be part of this year’s Chicago Latino Dance Festival, proudly representing our Latino community and sharing what we do through flamenco.

¡Gracias, Chicago!

The fourth annual Chicago Latino Dance Festival takes attendees on a two-day tour of the world without ever leaving the city. One of this year's performers is a group of flamenco dancers who study on the city's Northwest Side.

We’re excited to introduce Encuentros, a new Casa Triana series created to bring artists, educators, musicians, dancers, and professionals together to share their knowledge with our community.

Rooted in flamenco, but open to a much wider world of learning.

Through Encuentros, we’ll welcome guest artists and experts from flamenco, jazz, ballet, folkloric dance, classical music, percussion, and beyond. We’ll also learn from professionals sharing their expertise in areas such as body care, stagecraft, artist development, culture, and the business of being an artist.

Some Encuentros will get us moving.
Some will get us listening.
Some will get us thinking.

More than a workshop, Encuentros is a space to discover different perspectives, exchange ideas, and grow together as artists and as a community.

Our first Encuentro is coming soon, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
