Please join us in congratulating Jace Binion on being selected as a recipient of the Ashton Carter Memorial Foundation Scholarship! 🎉

Jace has demonstrated excellence through his leadership, discipline, and dedication both academically and athletically. This fall, he will attend Morehouse College to study business on a pre-law track as he works toward becoming a sports and labor attorney.

Major accomplishments include:
• 4.4 GPA
• Student-athlete and dedicated baseball player
• Volunteer coach and community mentor
• Active member of National Honor Society and Jack and Jill of America
• Committed to advocating for athletes through law

Makenzie has set the standard through her leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. This fall, she will attend Howard University to study psychology and pursue her goal of creating accessible mental health resources for Black youth and underserved communities.

Major accomplishments include:
• 5.03 GPA
• Leader, mentor, dancer, and choreographer
• Tutor and community advocate throughout Chicago
• Involved with Kenwood Dance Project, Chicago Contemporary Dance Theater, Chicago Scholars Foundation, and Global Glimpse
• Passionate about expanding mental health access and serving others

Makenzie’s hard work, resilience, and dedication continue to inspire those around her. Congratulations again, Makenzie — this achievement is well deserved, and the future is bright! 👏🏾✨

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of recognizing four outstanding students from Kenwood Academy in Chicago, Illinois — Ashton Carter's alma mater. 💫

The Ashton Carter Memorial Foundation Scholarship was created to honor Ashton's legacy by investing in students who lead with character, determination, and a commitment to serving others. Congratulations to Jace Binion and Makenzie Holloway for demonstrating excellence through their academics, leadership, community involvement, and service.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Kenwood NHS for their continued support, and congratulate Mora Spicer Ill and Jahnahn Webster on receiving the Ashton C. Carter Excellence in Leadership Awards. Your impact on your campus and community does not go unnoticed.

The Ashton Carter Memorial Foundation remains committed to uplifting and investing in the next generation of leaders, and we look forward to continuing this scholarship for years to come.

Congratulations again to all of this year's recipients - we are proud to celebrate your accomplishments and excited to see all that you achieve moving forward.
