Earlier this summer, CARPLS staff were gifted some merch out of appreciation for all the hard work they do. Pictured here is Supervising Attorney Patti Cintron-Bastin holding her very own insulated tumbler. We can’t wait to share more photos of our staff using their CARPLS branded items.

WHEN?
Tuesday, September 1, 2026
12:00 – 1:05 p.m.

Get the information you need on the emerging community justice worker model, including its significance for Illinois’ legal landscape and how it helps individuals gain access to the support they need. Learn how community justice workers operate, the design principles that guide their work, and the lessons we’ve learned from established programs in other states. Additional topics include: understanding the scope of Illinois’ unmet civil legal needs, the recent initiatives of the Illinois Supreme Court’s Executive Committee on the Practice of Law, and what attorneys should expect as the Illinois Community Justice Worker Program takes shape.

We love hearing from the people we serve! Your stories remind us of the impact legal aid can have and fuel our commitment to making justice accessible every day.

Each year, CARPLS helps thousands of people who can’t afford an attorney find answers to their everyday legal problems free of charge. We serve low- and moderate-income residents of Cook County.
