What a summer it has been in North Lawndale! ❤️
Over the past few weeks, we have had the opportunity to come together, celebrate our community, and create some great memories.
On August 13th, we celebrated the end of summer and officially launched the North Lawndale Neighborhood Network. It was a special day filled with laughter, connection, food, music, and, most importantly, our neighbors coming together. Seeing so many residents, families, community leaders, organizations, and partners in one place was a reminder of what makes North Lawndale so special.
Then, on August 23rd, we kept the celebration going with the Route 66 Car Show. The cars were amazing, but what stood out most was the energy of the community. Families came out, neighbors connected, and people from across the neighborhood had an opportunity to enjoy a great day together.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, participated, volunteered, sponsored, partnered, supported, and helped make these events possible. Community work does not happen because of one organization or one person. It happens because people care enough to show up and work together.
To our North Lawndale residents, thank you for continuing to show us what community looks like. To all of our community partners, organizations, businesses, volunteers, elected officials, and supporters, thank you for investing your time, energy, resources, and heart into North Lawndale.
These events were more than celebrations. They were reminders of what is possible when we come together.
And we are just getting started.
There is so much more ahead for North Lawndale, and we are excited about the work, the partnerships, the opportunities, and the memories still to come.
