We have received a generous gift from Jack Johnson's foundation, All At Once, for two tickets to his upcoming show at Northerly Island on Saturday, July 11th! We are auctioning them off to raise funds for our organization, and All At Once will be matching the donation from the winner, so your contribution will go twice as far! The two tickets are valued at $122 each with taxes and fees, bringing the total value to $244. We are hoping to raise more than that to cover our costs for our environmental education events and cleanups this year. We are currently in need of funds for litter grabbers, a larger storage unit, marketing materials, transportation costs, and more! The bidding is open from May 15th - 31st, and bids can be made through our Givebutter link: https://givebutter.com/c/jack-johnson-concert-ticket-auction-match-qjoqo2/auction

Thanks for supporting our cause. 🌏💚 If you would just like to donate to us without bidding on tickets, please visit our regular donation portal: https://give.ilenviro.org/a/chicagoenvironmentalists

ACTION ALERT! The Illinois Environmental Council is organizing a Lobby Day on Saturday, May 30th, to address the growing AI Data Center Issue and advocate for the POWER Act. With Big Tech racing to build data centers across Illinois, these facilities are snapping up dangerously large amounts of water and energy without paying their fair share or answering to the communities affected. The POWER Act would change that, and we need seasoned advocates in the room when we make our case to lawmakers. Will you join us at the Illinois State Capitol on Saturday, May 30 to urge lawmakers to pass the POWER Act and hold data centers accountable for their energy and water impacts? Please note that you do NOT need a car to attend- the IEC will be providing free buses from various pickup points around the city, based on demand.

Illinois' environmental movement will gather at the State Capitol to meet with legislators and push for support of the POWER Act (SB4016/HB5513) - nation-leading legislation that protects Illinois from data center harms. These energy- and water-intensive facilities are already increasing home utilit...

We spent Saturday mis-beav-having at the Chicago Beaver Festival! This was such a great event with creative wildlife and nature education. You could even build your own beaver dam and watch beaver trail cam footage! We were joined by many great conservation organizations, like The Nature Museum, Sierra Club Chicago, Urban Rivers, Friends of the Chicago River, and of course, the Illinois Beaver Alliance, who hosted the event. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table to learn about sustainable living options in Chicagoland!
