The poem, Still I Rise, seems apropos when considering the journey of Maria Moon, who has gone through so many of the same struggles that seem to plague most women impacted by the criminal legal system. Nevertheless, she, like so many others, finds ways to overcome. Now, Maria dedicates her life to finding stable and safe housing for others both pre and post-incarceration. As a member of the Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance (CAFHA), Community Support Advisory Council (CSAC West), a Senior Housing Justice Organizer, the Westside Health Authority, and founder of Return and Arize, a Youth Prevention Program, Maria has certainly risen, by the grace of God, to great heights in service to humanity. You are celebrated as an amazing woman in history!

Our RISE Essentials Pack & Beauty Days are more than self-care—they are about healing, rebuilding, and reminding women overcoming incarceration, addiction, and domestic violence that they are valued and loved.

We are deeply grateful to Dudley’s Beauty School for walking with us in this mission of restoration and second chances.

From girls to grandmothers, the room was full of purpose and power at our first Women & Girls Ministry gathering under our new name, Return & Arize Global Collective (formerly My Shoes Reentry Global). ✨Held at the beautiful Aspire Center — co-stewarded by Westside Health Authority — this night reminded us that healing, hope, and sisterhood are generational. We’re just getting started. 💜

🌸✨ What a night to remember! ✨🌸

Our first women’s gathering under our new name — Return & Arize Global Collective (formerly My Shoes Reentry Global) — was a beautiful success! 💜

From girls as young as 13 to our seasoned queens full of wisdom and grace, the room was filled with multigenerational love, power, and purpose. Women and girls from across the city came together on July 28th for a time of fellowship, healing, and community building. 🙌🏾👑

Though this gathering focused on our Women & Girls Ministry, our work reaches far beyond — from youth and seniors to individuals returning from incarceration. This was one powerful expression of the larger mission we’re walking out every day.

🫶🏾 A special thank you to those who made this gathering possible — including the Aspire Center, where we held the event. Shoutout to Westside Health Authority for co-stewarding such a vital space for community.

We were deeply moved by every volunteer, supporter, and guest who showed up with open hearts and willing hands. Our founder, Ms. Moon, reminded us of our God-given calling to rise together — spiritually, emotionally, and in service to others.
