We know firsthand how hard it can be to work with program data and evaluation - that’s why our neighborhood collective curriculum always includes a session on data and evaluation. In their last session, our West Side Neighborhood Collective worked with technical expert Emily Ardell from Four Corners Global Consulting Group to learn how to use data to talk about organizational success.

Participants from Chicago Austin Youth Travel Adventures, Inc. NFP, Grassroots Empowerment Mission, Love and Protect Wisdom, and ShoeHeals mapped out what success looks like for their programs and explored ways to collect data that shows their impact. Love & Protect Wisdom is proud to share that our Executive Director, Loné Williams, has been honored by the American Red Cross as a Community Impact Hero for her work addressing domestic violence in Chicago.

After losing her mother to domestic violence in 2023, Loné transformed unimaginable loss into purpose by founding Love & Protect Wisdom (LPW), an organization dedicated to healing, awareness, and prevention for survivors and families impacted by domestic violence.

Under Loné’s leadership, LPW provides critical resources and support including:
• Free therapy for survivors and their families
• Emergency care kits and safety resources
• Transportation and advocacy for court proceedings
• Financial assistance for temporary housing
• Youth workshops focused on healthy relationships and violence prevention

While this recognition highlights Loné’s leadership, she often reminds us that the true heroes are the survivors who find the courage to seek help and rebuild their lives, as well as the victims whose lives were tragically taken by domestic violence.

We are deeply grateful to the American Red Cross for recognizing the importance of this work and for helping elevate awareness around domestic violence and the support survivors need.

💜 EVERY MINUTE COUNTS 💜

Every minute, 24 people in the U.S. are affected by domestic violence. This October, three incredible Orangetheory Fitness studios are joining forces to help change that.

🏃‍♀️💪 Together, OTF West Loop, OTF Hyde Park, and OTF Park Ridge are hosting special classes and donation efforts throughout Domestic Violence Awareness Month in support of Love & Protect Wisdom’s inaugural fundraiser — Tower Over Domestic Violence.

Founded by survivor Loné M. Williams, who lost her mother to domestic violence, Love & Protect Wisdom was created to break the cycle and bring healing to families and communities. These classes are more than just workouts — they’re powerful moments of purpose, movement, and hope.

🔥 Funds raised will help provide therapy, temporary housing, legal advocacy, and family support for those affected by domestic violence.

And for the first time ever, the Chicago skyline will be illuminated purple — a symbol of strength, remembrance, and unity for all who have been affected.

Today marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month! In alignment with LPW’s mission, we are proud to have been featured on NBC’s Making A Difference to discuss our citywide campaign, Tower Over Domestic Violence, running from October 20 to October 26.

We sincerely thank NBC and LPW’s ambassador, Nicole Morris, for a wonderful interview that helps shine a light on our work within the community.

The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness, encourage community engagement, and provide vital resources for survivors through a series of impactful events and initiatives.

We invite you to join us for the inaugural Tower Over Domestic Violence Fundraiser at VU Rooftop Bar on Monday, October 20th, from 6 PM to 10 PM. This heartfelt event aims to expand and strengthen services that offer critical support and healing for survivors of domestic violence. It also serves as a tribute to those affected and a somber remembrance of victims.
