Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) who passed away 470 years ago on this day in the year 1556. The motto of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, "to learn, to love, and to serve" is based on his teachings.

Our students are not only nurtured academically, but formed to be Men and Women for Others, using their gifts to make a positive impact on the world.

We are so grateful for our partnership with Regis High School! This year we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Regis students visiting St. Al's to co-lead the Quest Retreat for students and to participate in our St. Al's Day celebration. The students love having them visit -they have fun, make new friends, and learn so much!

In this new system, St. Al’s is offering pathways of study in Social Sciences and STEM. These STEM students are doing well in their studies and excited that they will soon be able to study in their new Construction Technology lab.

St. Aloysius Gonzaga was happy to welcome a group of students from University of Michigan -Flint Nursing School who conducted medical exams and health education with all the students. Topics included healthy habits, dental health, safe use of social media. University of Michigan students have been coming annually for several years now and we are so grateful for their partnership. They not only offer a critical service to the school but are an inspiration to our students.

Part of our focus on the whole student is providing for students' health needs and teaching healthy habits. The school has a partnership with nearby St. Mary's Misson Hospital which provides medical care for students as needed. This week St. Al's hosted a medical camp at the school compound in collaboration with St. Mary’s. Students received physical exams and health education. We are very grateful for this partnership!
