As a member of the Army National Guard, Pooch Town founder and CEO Adebola Adeniyi could not attend the Women’s Small Business Cohort Pitch Competition presented by Lendistry in person to represent her South Shore-based service. 

Instead, the lifelong Chicagoan leaned on a manager, Chloe Gray, who took home the win—and $20,000 in funding—for the dog boarding and daycare business with big plans for its future.

At 20, she notched $20,000 in funding for the South Side cafe after winning the Women’s Small Business Cohort Pitch Competition presented by Lendistry.

To do so, the author and entrepreneur co-founded ¡Viva! Los Libros. And, after winning the Women’s Small Business Cohort Pitch Competition presented by Lendistry, she’s preparing to ring in another feat.

“We’re moving full steam ahead in getting our first book to press,” Sanchez shares following the victory, which secured her bilingual publishing company $20,000 in funding. She also says there are trio of titles on the way.
