Wellness Walks start this weekend!

Wellness Walks are a free, low-pressure way to get moving, connect with your community, and learn more about your own wellbeing– all while enjoying Chicago’s beautiful parks.

Each walk is guided by a partner leader, covering topics related to wellness with casual conversation along the way.

Oui ❤️ Chicago Parks!
For the first time yesterday, 8 members of Team ChiParks ran the Paris Marathon! 🇫🇷

Shout out to Gina, Khoa, Karrin, Garrett, Annie, Grace, Alexandra, and Gwendolynn for representing the Chicago Parks Foundation abroad and fundraising to support our parks.

Special thanks to Khoa – who is not only a seasoned Team ChiParks runner and a member of our board – but was also our eyes and ears on the streets of Paris this weekend while we cheered on from home!

It's what we've all been waiting for... Our cherry blossoms are now at Stage 6: PEAK BLOOM! 🌸🥳

Stop on by Jackson Park now through this weekend (April 9–12) for the maximum bloom experience. Hurry– they won't last long!

A huge thank you to Park District Operations Support Manager Karen Szyjka for assisting in our updates this year.

Groundbreaking today on amazing new improvements at Jackson Park Golf Course including new bunker design, improved playability, and a fresh look that honors the historic character of the park.

Shout out to our board member Matt McIntee and our friend Tracy Raoul for championing this effort for the community. Now more than ever, we can’t wait to Play for the Parks at our annual golf event this summer! ⛳️

Congratulations to our friend on his brand new book out today - A Place for Us: Gay Life at the Belmont Rocks. Signed copies at now!

“Before rainbow flags, before open-door bars, and before Pride was a season on the calendar, Chicago’s q***r community carved out freedom on a jagged stretch of Lake Michigan shoreline at the end of Belmont Avenue. It wasn’t a beach. It was rock, concrete, sun, and possibility. Everyone knew it as the Belmont Rocks.”

And today it’s home to AIDS Garden Chicago. Bringing the garden to life was a true community effort, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Owen’s incredible collection of photos and stories from years past - which you can now experience.

A portion of book proceeds will generously be donated to support AIDS Garden Chicago. Use the link below to learn more and order 🌈

Fun fact: did you know that our white blossoms are called “snow goose” cherries, while the pink ones are called “yoshino” cherries?

Only two stages left to go! Our eyes are peeled… 👀

It’s officially baseball season in Chicago! Happy MLB Opening Day ⚾️✨

Check out this story from our Between the Leaves Magazine highlighting the Brainerd Park baseball fields restoration we helped complete last year.

This project was possible thanks to a generous gift and partnership from Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. Congratulations to their new Executive Director, Lynn Osmond!

Shout out to our Team ChiParks runners and everyone who participated in the yesterday!

We are lucky to be a partner of and .event, who celebrated 30 years this weekend with the 45th Annual Shamrock Shuffle. Congrats, CEM!

Thanks to those who added a donation onto their race registration in our support, the Chicago Parks Foundation raised over $4800 this year. That’s why we like to say a little green goes a long way! You can support your parks, too, by joining us with a gift this spring via our website. 💚
