As we prepare for the transitus of St. Francis of Assisi, we seek his intercession and pray for peace, harmony, and love around the world.

Felician Services is proud to celebrate Mission & Heritage Week - the week that begins with the transitus of St. Francis of Assisi on October 3rd through the feast day of BL Mary Angela, Felician foundress, who met her celestial reward on October 10, 1899.

This year, in honoring our Mission & Heritage, we widen our tent once again by honoring the Felician Sisters Corporate Stands. These stands speak to the Franciscan tradition by reflecting peace, justice, standing with vulnerable populations, and caring for creation. We invite you to learn more about the Corporate Stands and access resources for them here:

Marywood was blessed with a visit from Felician Sisters from around the globe this week! Representing Kenya and the United States Felician Sister community, Sisters participating in the Tertianship Renewal Program visited Marywood and other ministries in Livonia, Michigan as one of the many stops on their journey of spiritual renewal. Within the Felician tradition, the Tertianship Renewal Program is a period of ongoing spiritual formation and renewal for perpetually professed Felician Sisters. It is an opportunity to step away from daily responsibilities to deepen one's relationship with God, renew commitment to religious life, and reconnect with the Felician charism and Franciscan spirituality. Formation in religious life is viewed as lifelong, and tertianship is one of its significant milestones - a renewal program for sisters who have lived their final vows for 12 to 18 years.

Marywood’s Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care, Christina Hall, and CEO, Tedra Kumru, were especially delighted to welcome Sister Mary Bakhita Waweru back to visit, as Sister Bakhita has served as a Registered Nurse in our Marywood community!

Read from this season's Felician Magazine.

As America comes up on 250 years of independence, we are invited to reflect on what liberty has meant—then and now.

For the Felician Sisters, the pursuit of freedom is inseparable from our commitment to human dignity, peace and justice. Human dignity reminds us that every person—without exception—is created with inherent worth and deserves to live in freedom, safety and opportunity.

"Liberty is not a static gift; it is a work in progress."
