The last four years of Brandon Johnson and CTU leadership have been a disaster for our public schools — and the latest enrollment numbers make it impossible to pretend otherwise.

CPS lost more than 11,500 students this year — the largest one-year enrollment decline in 25 years outside the pandemic era. The biggest drop being between eighth and ninth grade, right before high school. That is not a reflection on the thousands of teachers, principals and staff who work hard every day for our kids. It is a warning that the direction being set at the top isn’t working.

We cannot keep pretending everything is going great while families are walking away from our schools. Chicago needs change. Listen to parents. Keep families in Chicago. Give them schools they want to send their children to.

The measure of success isn’t what Brandon Johnson or CTU leadership say about our schools — it’s whether families choose them. Call your Alderman and tell them Chicago has a Mayor problem.

Chicago, there’s more than one Election Day to have on your radar!

This November, voters will head to the polls for the 2026 Midterm Elections, with federal, state, county, and Chicago Board of Education races on the ballot.

But it doesn’t stop there. Chicago’s municipal elections are coming up in February 2027, when voters will cast their ballots for offices including Mayor, City Clerk, City Treasurer, Alderpersons, and Police District Council Members.
