🎨✨ ARTIST SPOTLIGHT ✨🎨

As we count down to Colors of Resilience: A Tribute to Gaza Through Visual Art on June 20, we are honored to introduce our first featured artist: Abid Shalabi.

Art has always been an essential part of liberation movements, carrying history, truth, and humanity across generations. Through this auction, we hope to uplift Palestinian artists and create space for their stories to be seen, felt, and remembered.

Join us on June 20 to experience Abid’s work in person, bid on incredible pieces from Gaza and beyond, and stand with art as a form of resistance and hope. ❤️🍉

Tickets and sponsorship information can be found through the link in our bio.

Our biggest and most important event of the year is finally here. ❤️🍉

“Colors of Resilience” is more than an art auction. It is a gathering rooted in community, resistance, storytelling, and action. Art has always been central to liberation movements across the world. It preserves memory, amplifies truth, and gives people the power to be seen and heard even in the darkest moments.

This evening is an opportunity to stand with Gaza through visual art while directly supporting humanitarian work and Palestinian artists. Guests will have the chance to bid on and win deeply powerful, one-of-a-kind pieces from Gaza alongside works by featured Chicago artists joining us in solidarity.

Join us for a night of live oud and daf music, hors d’oeuvres, community, and art that refuses to let Palestinian voices be erased.

Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased via QR code or first link in our bio.

We cannot wait to share this night with you. 🇵🇸

Girls in Gaza are too often denied the care, support, and safe spaces every young woman deserves, which is why Watermelon Sisters remains deeply committed to them.

Through our wellness and embroidery classes, we create spaces for healing, creativity, and community during unimaginable conditions. Embroidery can be deeply therapeutic, offering the girls a moment of peace, self-expression, and connection to tradition amidst chaos.

These classes are more than activities, they are safe spaces for healing, empowerment and happiness.

If you would like to sponsor a class for girls in Gaza, please send us a message. ❤️🍉

We’ve been posting so much about water because in Gaza, water is survival. It’s health, dignity, and life itself. Something that should be a basic human right has become dangerously inaccessible for Palestinians in Gaza.

That’s why water trucks matter so much. They are lifesaving.

We’re deeply grateful to sponsors like Zerrin, who understand that water is life and continue to step up for families in need. Every truck delivered is because someone chose to care.

If you’ve been looking for a way to help, sponsor a water truck. One truck can bring relief to hundreds of people. ❤️🍉

This week marked our very first art therapy class in Central Gaza. 🥰
As we continue to expand, we remain deeply grateful for the trust placed in us and fully committed to caring for as many women as possible - creating spaces where healing, softness, and community can still exist, even in the hardest circumstances.

A special thank you to for always going above and beyond for the women of Gaza ❤️🩷🍉

Sometimes all it takes is a picture to remind you why you keep going. To quiet the heartbreak, even if only for a moment. To make every exhausting day, every tear, every obstacle feel worth carrying.

Today, for me, it’s these pictures. Women in Gaza smiling from somewhere deep in their souls. Women sitting in a space that feels safe, sacred, and fully theirs.

Our programming matters. It may not look as urgent as food or water distribution, but healing matters too. Safe spaces matter. Joy matters. Being seen, held, and able to breathe for even a moment in the middle of unimaginable loss matters just as much. ❤️🍉

I will never understand how the world allowed this to happen. How children were forced to trade classrooms for water lines, and books for heavy, dirty buckets. 💔

At Watermelon Sisters, we will continue doing everything we can to bring clean water to families in Gaza, but none of it is possible without our community.

Gather a group, sponsor a water truck, or donate toward emergency water relief through the link in our bio. In a place where clean water has become a daily struggle, even the smallest act of generosity matters. ❤️🍉

In displacement camps where clean water is scarce and disease spreads rapidly, hygiene is not a luxury, it’s survival. So, we distributed cleaning supplies and hygiene items to families in Gaza to help protect them in deeply unclean and overcrowded conditions.

This was only possible because of our donors. We simply facilitate your generosity and help carry it directly to the people who need it most. ❤️‍🩹🍉
