We have been dedicated to producing socially-engaged bilingual and inclusive theater for over two decades. Water People Theater is an inclusive bilingual Latino non-profit theatrical organization committed to promoting social values and defending human rights. A theater that inspires a very diverse audience to seek change and contribute decidedly to equity, justice, and inclusion. We Are Honored To Be The Resident Theater Group At The Instituto Cervantes Of Chicago.

Two extraordinary artists bring to life two women who transformed pain, passion, and rebellion into art. ❤️‍🔥

As we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, Water People Theater brings MUSES back to the stage, an extraordinary encounter between two icons of 20th-century art: Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and American poet Sylvia Plath.

Separated by time, geography, and culture, MUSES, written by Néstor Caballero and directed by Iraida Tapias, imagines these two women sharing some of the most intimate and passionate moments of their lives. Through a visually striking and deeply sensory staging, the play explores art, identity, love, female freedom, and the cost of refusing to become who society expects us to be.

Es una oportunidad para llevar a un escenario internacional la fuerza, la creatividad y la esperanza de un país que sigue adelante a pesar de los enormes desafíos que enfrenta. También es una forma de recordar que Venezuela sigue necesitando la atención y la solidaridad del mundo. Creemos que el arte puede tender puentes, despertar empatía y mantener viva esa conversación.
