What a fun afternoon at The Cabin! We had a nice lunch then Carrie donned her mother’s Santa Lucia dress and lead us in song. The owner, Harry Nyholm shared his family history of making Glögg and how he likes to introduce it to new people. He makes 130 liters a year to serve and sell at The Cabin. God Jul och Gott Nytt År! 🌲

Today we kicked off the year with a lovely lunch and presentation by our guest speaker, Jonni Hegenderfer. Jonni’s written a new cookbook of her family’s treasured hand-written recipes, “A Swedish Family Cookbook”. Jonni shared with us how she, along with family and friends, collected, cooked, baked and taste-tested each recipe. You can read more about Jonni on her site swedishfamilykitchen.com and find her cookbook on Amazon.

Midsommarfest is just around the corner! Join the Museum in celebrating June 7-9.

This will be the 58th year of the neighborhood’s Midsommarfest. Located at the south end of the festivities, the Museum will have its own Swedish stage featuring performances by Nikki O'Neill, Crocodile Rockstar, Gus Giordano Dance School, Jesse White Tumblers and more.

Remember to come inside the Museum to view our brand new permanent exhibit, “We Are America”, enjoy Store discounts, and explore our other galleries and our Children’s Museum. Swedish food will be offered, and we will also be running a beer tent during the festival's hours.

The annual dance around the Maypole will occur just after the opening ceremony on Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m.
