Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta

We are the "Do or Die" Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc.

We are a historically Latino based, multicultural fraternity founded at UW-Madison on May 4th, 2008. In the Fall of 2007, nine men began a student driven community service organization known as L.U.M.B.R.E. These nine men, now known as the founding brothers of the Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated included: Brother Eric Ortiz, Brother Hiram Pérez-Reyes

, Brother Ruben Castillo, Brother Daniel Bahena, Brother Isaia Román-Roche, Brother Fausto Rivera, Brother Alfredo Arteaga Jr., Brother Lester Rodriguez, and Brother Juan Gamez. On May 4, 2008, theses nine men were inducted into this brotherhood and since then many have continued to follow in their footsteps in search understanding true brotherhood as defined by our national pillars. The Brothers of the lime green "Do or Die" Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Incorporated understand the meaning of true brotherhood and live up to the motto "Opportunity for Wisdom, Wisdom for Culture" in all aspects of their lives.

While doing so, your favorite men in purple would like to help y’all catch a break in between your hard work and with some tasteful snacks that remind us of the comfort and warmth of our homes.

We are hosting a collaboration fundraiser with Buffalo Wild Wings on University Ave. All you need to do is when you order, make sure to let your server know that you’re are there for a team. You show them them our team card & that’s it!! Make sure to post a story and tag us, as we are raffling a Buffalo Wild Wings Gift Card at the end of our fundraiser window. 💟 AMOR EN ARTE 💟

Our holiday break is just around the corner and we’re feeling incredibly grateful to be a small part of this amazing diverse community here on campus. We hope you all feel just as thankful as we would love to ask the community to join us next week Monday, November 28th, in expressing that gratitude as a whole by attending our open conversation on cultural pride through artistic representation at the Center for Cultural Engagement located at Witte Residence Hall.

We hope to see as much of the friendly, diverse faces that make up this glorious community at UW come next as we bring back an old fan favorite event of ours!

🥋 Self-Defense Workshop 🥋

The Brothers of the 𝐃𝐎 𝐎𝐑 𝐃𝐈𝐄 Delta Delta chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta invite you to Back Kick with the Betas. Learn some moves taught by UW Madison’s Taekwondo Club on campus. We believe it’s important that everyone knows how to protect and defend themselves whenever a alerting situation occurs. The Taekwondo Club & Betas are ready to teach y’all some moves and how keep yourself on your toes.

We recommend to wear any athletic/workout clothes as we will be moving a lot & breaking a sweat.

The Siblings of the Gamma Mu Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. and the Brothers of Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. would like to formally invite you all to celebrate and learn about el Dia de Los Mu***os on November 1st at the MSC Classroom, 6PM.

We will be decorating sugar skulls while enjoying some yummy pan de mu**to with chocolate de abuletia as we watch Coco. We will also be decorating individual ofrendas to honor our loved ones who are no longer with us. We will be providing the material needed to decorate your ofrenda but please bring a shoe box if you have one! Feel free to donate any old shoe boxes you won’t be needing!

Learn about the direct results of colonization on non-binary people in worldwide cultures, the ripple effects of Christianity, and the overall belief that only a binary exists. These non-binary communities continue to live in the shadows but are resilient in the way they leave a mark for several non-binary people around the world. Learn more about the Muxes, Fa’afafine and Fa’afatama, and Hijras people that break the social norm and are understood in their small communities, but not worldwide

Classes are back in session and so are we! 😈 Your favorite men in purple wanted to take a second and share with you an original Delta Delta design created by our Brother Jéff in preparation for our Alumni Weekend that took place last semester! Every year active house hosts a weekend long event specifically for our Alumni where they come back to campus to share with us the knowledge and insights they’ve developed post undergrad. Lead entirely by Alum we have workshops covering financial literacy (including but not limited to credit building, managing savings and budget planning, how to properly invest your money, starting your 401k, filing taxes, etc!), as well as goal oriented planning, project management, and many many more topics that are incredibly useful to learn after our time here at UW!

In this design we wanted to share and pay tribute to one of the many cultures that make up this amazing Brotherhood. We take immense pride in the fact that we are a Latin based multicultural Fraternity that accepts and welcomes all individuals from any culture, ethnicity, or creed with open arms! Here we paid homage to the Filipino roots in our Chapter through the back of our design by incorporating a quote in Tagalog (the native language home to the Philippines!) which has a very symbolic and heartfelt meaning to us here as the Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta.

The quote reads, “it does not matter who came before, or who will come next, because we are certain of ourselves. This is Do or Die.”

Much love to our Filipino Brothers 🫶🏼 and every single culture and background that plays a part in the creation and expansion of this honorable Fraternity. LB!!

It’s been a HOT minute and after such a long time away we know of no better way to celebrate our return than by congratulating our Brothers that have graduated this past Spring ‘22!

HUGE shoutout to Brother Fabian Perez for all the hard work he has put in academically during his last 4 years and for everything he has done for our Chapter by being a prime example of what it means to be an honorable man of Sigma Lambda Beta!

Congratulations Fabian, we appreciate you dearly and wish you nothing but success in your future! Much love from all of your DD Bros and always know we’ll be here to support you no matter what 💟

🏳️‍🌈 HAPPY PRIDE MONTH 🏳️‍🌈

The Brothers of the 𝐃𝐎 𝐎𝐑 𝐃𝐈𝐄 Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Beta Int’l Fraternity, Inc. wish you all a happy pride month. Pride Month remembers the Stonewall riots, which were demonstrations that followed a police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York's Greenwich Village, on June 28, 1969. Marsha P. Johnson, a black trans activist, is credited with throwing the first brick. This is the month to celebrate and recognize efforts done by members of the LGBTQIA+ community; past, present, and future.

We are incredibly proud of our LGBTQ+ members and their work within our beloved fraternity. We will always support the LGBTQ+ community and stand in solidarity with them every step of the way.

🌟 DUNK-A-BETA 🌟

We been quiet on this end for a bit cause we had to get our grind on and enjoy the celebrations that followed 🥂 Now we back and wanna show some love to everyone that came out and supported our first ever DUNK A BETA event 😈 We had a blast getting dunked even if the water was cold asl 🥶 Y’all know we greatly appreciate everyone that came out and showed us support!! We are happy to announce our Dunk-A-Beta fundraiser will be one our SIGNATURE STAPLE events every year! 🤩 We definitely enjoyed the event and know y’all had a good time dunking us! 🥳 We look forward to the next school year cause as y’all know we only trying to improve and innovate our events every year, so next time we taking this event 🆙 If you didn’t pull up and get a chance to dunk us no worries, cause you’ll get your chance next time 🎯 But as we saw this time around, not everyone got the skills to dunk a young fly stallion so get to practicing cause we tryna get drenched 🥵😤🔥
