Towers of Excellence is participating in Junior Economics Club this year! Our student champs on Chicagos west side are learning about investing in the stock market, EFTs, S&P sectors, and developing their financial awareness.

The game officially begins on Oct 31! Most of our students are 95% invested. Stay tuned to hear how they do throughout the year!

We invest in our youth so they can be elevated to change the world and be the leaders we need for a positive future.

🙏Towers of Excellence is honored to be a recipient of Guanacaste Lead Listening Society 2024 award.

Dr. John Igwebuike thank you for the opportunity to be a part of a wonderful conference. Towers of Excellence will continue to create space to L-I-S-T-E-N to our youth. We will help guide our youth as they learn new tools in the art of listening to each other, themselves, and others. We will guide our youth and team to find peace in the moments in between listening. We are blessed to be a part of this wonderful family and for all we learned this week.

🌳👂🏽Positive Power of Effective Listening

The Lead Listening Society promotes the positive power of effective listening - one of the greatest skills rarely taught. The Lead Listening Society grows “Guanacastes,” that is, leaders who lead by listening. We host an annual Listening Conference and offer “Listening Read Alouds” for kindergarten and elementary school students. Interested members are inducted each academic year to become Guanacastes (or “listening trees”). In line with Ignatian spirituality, God gives us “two ears and one mouth” so that we can L-I-S-T-E-N twice as much as we speak. The Listening Society is open to ALL.

Today just got better! Big shout out to Ms. Russell and Mr. Fair! . Towers is better because they are a part of our team. We are grateful for their service to our students and commitment to our program.

Ms. Russell is serving as our High School Program Director this year. She is in her 9th year with Towers. She is “enthusiastic about taking Towers to new heights this year!” She has worked to develop a comprehensive program for our High School freshman where we will be exposing them to new opportunities, while ensuring they are achieving academically, socially, and emotionally in all their endeavors. We love you Ms. Russell!

Mr. Fair is taking on a new class of 6th grade student champs, while maintaining his connection with his freshman mentees too. This is his 5th year with Towers and we are better because he is on our team. Mr. Fair’s energy is contagious. He brings a “coach like” mentality to our team and his small group. He cheers us on and holds Hoos small group team to high expectations! We love you Mr. Fair!

When I look around the city of Chicago I am struck by the thought of how many people are responsible for working to make this a great city. Health care workers, teachers, service workers, streets and sanitation workers, artist, architects, lawyers, and an infinite list of more professions that are needed to make our city and nation thrive. When we collectively work hard, our communities are vibrant. When we individually work hard there is an inevitable glorious feeling of accomplishment. Today, may we recognize and honor our personal hard work and that of the people around us! Happy Labor from our team to yours. 🇺🇸✌️

Hello Towers Friends and Family,

In honor of the olympics, we are declaring this our gold medal year! 🏅 We are gearing up for an amazing start to our 10th year of programming! It is an absolute joy to type those words. 10 years of learning, set backs, successes, and growth. Our Towers team is growing this year, our student groups are growing, our program content is growing, our partnerships are growing, and we are ready for ALL of the growth!

To kick start this year we have three college students and five high school students joining us at our Towers Golf Classic. Happy Friday!

🤩 We are gearing up for a new year with our middle school, high school, and college students! Today we are taking a quick walk down memory lane to shout out these incredible young ladies! They are unstoppable.

🌸 Each of these young women are on their path of excellence. They are entering their sophomore year in college, working hard, staying connect with their incredible mentor , and paving their paths forward.

🎓We were able to extend scholarships for many of college students due to their hard work and commitment to excellence. We thank our donors and supports for making this possible!

✨ Congratulations are in order for our newly graduated Sydney Freeman and Javonni Amos for being awarded our Be SMART Award!

🏆Every year we award a student, or two, our Be SMART award for embodying and exemplifying our core values in all their actions. Sydney and Javonni are Self-aware, Mindful, Authentic & Accountable, Respectful & Responsible, and Tenacious each and every day! They show up for ready to learn and be of service. They are great friends to their peers and delightful to be around in all situations.

🤩 As Sydney and Javonni embark on a new chapter in their lives, high school, we will be right there with them!
Their mentors and our entire Towers Team will continue to support and guide these amazing student champs. They mean everything to us!!!

During our daily check-ins, small group meetings, and whole group outings, we provide multiple opportunities to share, learn, and grow.

We are here to help our students build a positive, long-lasting, relationship with their mentor.

We are here to help our students explore the value of hard work.

We are here to teach our students the Be SMART core values and how to apply them in their everyday life.

We are here to help our students build their leadership capacity through weekly lessons designed to strengthen their skills, talents, and areas of interest.

We are here to help our students turn their fears into freedom.

We are here to provide our students with enriching experiences exploring our city and engaging in new activities.

We are here to explore new ideas with our students.
