🚀 Successful Transitions – Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)
National Federation of the Blind of South Carolina

📍Across South Carolina, there are blind and low-vision students who are still discovering what is truly possible for their lives. Too often, those possibilities are limited—not by ability, but by perception. Some students are overprotected, shielded from opportunities to grow. Others face discouraging messages—words and phrases that diminish confidence instead of building it. And many lack access to blind mentors who can show them, through lived experience, what independence, leadership, and success truly look like.

💡That is where Successful Transitions steps in.

Our program is designed to empower blind and low-vision students through:
• Career exploration and work readiness
• Leadership development and self-advocacy
• Independent living and real-world skill building
• Mentorship from blind professionals who have walked the path before them. Because who better to teach and inspire blind students than blind leaders who are living proof of what is possible? Our Transition Specialists don’t just teach skills—we share experiences, build confidence, challenge limitations, and help students redefine what they believe they can achieve. We are committed to ensuring that every student we serve understands that blindness is not a barrier to success.

🌱Through Successful Transitions, students gain access to meaningful opportunities to connect—whether through leadership programs, career development experiences, or community-based learning that prepares them for the future.

If you believe in empowering blind students to reach their full potential, we invite you to support our work.

Students had a great time at the National Association of Blind Students Midwest Seminar in Chicago last weekend. Students participated in seminars and discussions on interviewing, networking, public speaking, communication, and participating in a skills fair where they could dive deeper into some of those professional skills and have the opportunity to have professional headshots taken. Students gained knowledge and skills they can take back to their school campuses and continue to grow into future leaders.

To the students of Successful Transitions who believe in our program, believe in themselves, and know they are leaders—this message is for you. Your determination, confidence, and willingness to grow are what make this program so powerful. Continue to lead, continue to rise, and remember that you are truly unstoppable. 💙
