As America celebrates 250 years of independence, we also recognize the enduring importance of the First Amendment, which has protected our fundamental freedoms since 1791. For more than half a century, FTRF has worked to defend those freedoms in libraries and communities across the country.

Since 1969, we've stood against censorship and championed the freedom to read because the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment remains worth protecting every day. 🇺🇸

Presented yesterday during the President's Program and Awards Presentation, the Roll of Honor Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to intellectual freedom and the Freedom to Read Foundation.

For decades, Deborah has been a steadfast advocate for libraries, readers, and First Amendment rights. Her leadership, expertise, and unwavering commitment to intellectual freedom have helped librarians and communities navigate some of the most challenging censorship battles of our time.
