For the rest of June:
Do your part, boycott Walmart! ❌💵💰👎
Save money, shop better! 🙅🏼♀️🙅🏾♀️🙅♀️
The fight has just begun! This movement will ensure our demands to protect women’s rights nationally are heard no matter what it takes. While striking can achieve a great impact on disrupting the economy, boycotting has the potential to cause a similar or even greater impact. Women’s Strike will be sporadically boycotting corporations and companies that do not align with our values.
While we would love for these boycotts to be indefinite, we understand not everybody has enough reasonable alternatives to sustain this long-term. Women’s Strike will be announcing one or multiple entities to boycott on the first of every month.
These politicians are forgetting that women are a fundamental force in the economy. In the US alone, we hold an estimated $15 trillion in buying power and control 85% of spending. We are responsible for most grocery shopping and major purchasing decisions. Do not take this lightly. We need to harness this power and hit them where it hurts; their pockets!
If just 40% of women in the US participate in these systemic boycotts, we will create a meaningful and lasting impact. This will be one for the history books.
Why Walmart?:
They have a history of wage theft, racial and gender discrimination. In fact, Walmart has been involved in various lawsuits alleging unequal pay, promotions and job assignments. Walmart also engages in unethical business practices such as exploitative policies and anti union activities. Employees get paid so low that a majority of them are dependent on government aid. While our tax dollars are providing basic essential needs to their employees, Walmart is contributing significant funds to the Republican Party and lobbying against women’s rights.
We can no longer provide our resources to entities that do not hold our same values!
