TALK (the Theatre & Arts Leadership Kouncil)

TALK (the Theatre & Arts Leadership Kouncil) TALK's mission is to provide a voice and leadership skills for diverse populations using the expressive, transformative and rejuvenating power of the arts.

TALK is a budding not-for-profit that, for year-one, is successfully cultivating positive Youth-Adult Partnerships aimed at developing community-based, high-profile multi-media art events. TALK is largely governed by a Youth Leadership Kouncil (YoLK), which consists of teens (13-18 y.o.) - each are skilled in represent one or more of the various art forms (drama/dance, visual/photography, music, f

ilm, writing). They are tasked with assembling Kommittees to help lead and cultivate art events under each art form and they are beginning to develop an annual Teen Arts Festival. Using newly learned leadership skills to set direction and then to navigate multiple systems, the YoLK and the Kommittees will routinely find ways to showcase their creations. In this process, they are actively seeking ways to engage arts Kontributors, who will share their creations and who will have chances of their own to become a TALK leader.
