Here we go Top Sportsman racers, 1 weekend, 2 shots at $3500.00 to win!

We will have 2 races on Oct 3rd & 4th.

The weekend fee to Byron at the gate of $100.00 is for car & driver for both days and includes entry into Sunday's race.

Be sure to say MWTS at the gate to receive these prices.

Racing this weekend has been cancelled due to the weather forcast!

We will make up race #7 on Saturday Oct 3rd and race #8 is cancelled. All points will be final after Saturdays race.

Our 2026 MWTS pot luck dinner will be on Saturday Oct 3rd after racing, we encourage all to join in.

Sunday Oct 4th race is part of the Wheel Stand event and run by Byron. All entrance fees and the purse is paid to and from the track.

Fees and payouts will be annouced soon, plan on 2 nice payouts for our final weekend of racing in 2026!

Well, Mother Nature took home the win for race 5&6. We qualified each day and were in the lanes for round 1 each day and that was the end. Byron Dragway's staff worked hard drying and as soon as they ran a couple test n tune cars the skies opened up again. Thank you to all who came out and Byron Dragway for the A+ efforts to get our race in.

Our last 2 point races for 2026 are Sept 19th & 20th at Byron Dragway. MWTS & the Szymczak family will be hosting our annual dinner Saturday when racing ends. All are encouaged to join in and bring a side or dessert to share. We look forward to seeing all our members, racers, crew, family and friends there.

Wheel Stand weekend, October 3rd & 4th, Byron Dragway is hosting a Top Sportsman race. Qualifing on Sat 10/3 and eliminations on Sun 10/4 in the morning, before the wheel standing championship which begins at 2pm.
This is a $3500.00 to win race for MWTS members and $2500 to win for non-members. Mark your calenders for these 2 fun weekends of racing.

Midwest Top Sportsman race 5 and 6 is this weekend at Byron dragway. Gates open both days at 8:00 a.m. racing to start approximately 10:00 a.m. . They do have a test and tune Friday night for anyone interested. We will be racing with Midwest super comp and open Test n tune as well.

Car & driver $55 at the gate and MWTS fees at Alex's tailer.
Spectator/crew $20.00
Fri T&T is only $40.00

Willmington Overhead Door has put a $100 bounty on Matt for anyone who takes over the #1 spot!

Race #3&4 had our best turn out of the year. We are glad to welcome 4 new members and a couple non-members that raced with us both days as well. Cordova Dragway gave a great racing surface and mother nature was good to us also.

Saturday had 24 cars qualify with Rick Sojka taking the #1 spot. After 2 qualifiers and 5 competitive rounds of action it was Matt Gensini taking the win over Ed Banderowicz Jr in the nightime final. Congrats to the Gensini family on their 2nd win of the year and the Banderowicz family on a runner up finish!

Sunday had 21 cars qualify and Rick Sojka took #1 with with a quick 4.19. MWTS racers battled the extrme heat and humidity and the last man standing was Eric Paveich taking the win over Rick Sojka in the hot final. Congrats to Eric and crew (Charlie Hamma) on his 1st MWTS win and to team Sojka for back to back #1 qualifing positions and a runner up finish!

MWTS will be back on track Aug 29th & 30th at Byron dragway. We look forward to seeing all our members and hopfully a few new cars!

Attention Midwest Top Sportsman racer and fans, we are back on track this weekend at Cordova Dragway! Saturday gates open at 11am and racing starts at 1pm. Sunday gates at 8am and racing starts at 9am. We will have 2 qualifiers on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. The track is open for test and tune Friday 6pm to 10pm. We are part of the weekend bracket series and MWSC, so no parking in reserved spots. Looking forward to another fun weekend!
