My most handicapped dog is my fierce protector and the happiest bright light in my home! Here's a little video we made this morning after his shower. It's very important to make sure that he's comfortable and clean since his paralysis leaves him incontinent. He normally wears a diaper but to avoid skin irritation he needs regular showers and a little bit of air time. The haven is always looking for donations of quality dog food or cat food. Antibiotic ointment and/or red soap. And Kiki uses two human baby diapers per day (6 to 11 kilos size). If you can and or are willing to help we'd appreciate it so much as we continue developing a path to reach our two goals of caring for one community animal at a time and collecting donations or resources to add to existing castration clinics and campaigns.

Please check the about us info on our page to find the link to our website. It's super cute with detailed information, photos, and the background stories of many of the animals at The Haven. Plus, there's an easy way to donate by clicking the big button called donate thank you!!!

My Lola died today. A stray from Chicago, I adopted her and she travelled from Chicago to Southern California to Costa Rica. She was mostly deaf and her sight was not good, but she was my first dog after my life change in 2011 and she helped me make it to today. I wasn't with her when she passed, but found her when I returned home. That, I painfully regret. She will be forever missed . Simple and never a pack member of high ranking ... She was silly and easily maintained. Her circles and circles before finding the perfect sleeping arrangement will not be missed but we'll remembered. I love my girl and one day, I will be with her again. All things are possible through Jesus and our Father.
