LULAC Illinois Education Council 5238, part of LULAC National, is dedicated to advancing education equity for the Latino community. We believe education is the foundation for opportunity, and we work to ensure that both students and educators have the resources, pathways, and support they need to succeed. From expanding the Latino teacher pipeline to breaking down barriers to higher education, our

mission is to prepare youth and adults with the 21st-century skills—including technology access—that drive success in today’s world. Through advocacy, scholarships, and community partnerships, we are building stronger futures where equity in education transforms lives and empowers the Latino community for generations to come.

Congratulations to the 2026–2027 LULAC Illinois State Administration!

Today at the 2026 Illinois State Conference, delegates from across Illinois came together to elect a new leadership team dedicated to advancing the mission of LULAC and serving our communities through advocacy, education, civic engagement, and empowerment.

Please join us in congratulating the newly elected state officers:

State Director: Caroline Crozier-Sanchez (Council #5238)

Deputy State Director: Nathalia Patricio (Council #5333)

State Treasurer: Rise Mary Bombela-Tobias (Council #313)

Deputy State Director for the Elderly: Guadalupe Rodriguez (Council #5328)

Deputy State Director for Women: Mariela Treviño (Council #6285)

Deputy State Director for Young Adults: Nancy Razón (Council 5283)

Deputy State Director for Youth: Alvaro Bermúdez (Council 5296)

Together, this leadership team will help shape the future of LULAC Illinois by strengthening our councils, developing future leaders, and continuing our commitment to uplifting Latino communities throughout the state.

✊🏽 **LULAC Council 5238 in Action** ✊🏽

On March 28th, members of LULAC IL 5238 proudly stood in solidarity at the **No Kings Protest** in both Chicago and Oak Park, IL, raising our voices for equity, justice, and community empowerment. Lulac of Illinois LULAC

Our **Council President, Claudia Arroyo**, represented at the Grant Park protest, while our Founder and Board Member, Caroline Sanchez Crozier joined fellow board members Sofia Gonzalez, Raul Sanchez, and Rogelio Sanchez in Oak Park.

Together, we continue to show that when we lead with purpose and stand united, our impact is powerful.
