The Ainslie Winmore Block Club is pleased to announce the return of the 2026 Block Party on Saturday August 15, 2026 from 12-6PM!

Bring your friends and family to our FREE community event. We'll have a live DJ spinning summer vibes, food, drinks, a chance to win raffle prizes, street market vendors, a bounce house, facepaiting, popcorn, cotton candy, and a kids activity zone.

Bring your pet and enter our signature event, the Best in Show Pet Parade, sponsored by FAUNA. Bring your dog, cat, bird, rabbit, snake, or other animal to showcase their best trick, or dress them in a cute outfit, and show off their hidden talent. We want to share it with the neighborhood! Enter the parade at 2PM and "Strut their Stuff" to be entered to win a fabulous prize!

Uptown Farmers Market is today from 2:30 to 7 PM. The market is located on the beautiful tree lined pedestrian Sunnyside Mall between Magnolia and Beacon Street.

If you are not familiar with the location, it is just a block west of Truman College.

Sadly, the Double Door will not become our neighbor. Its plans to open on Wilson Avenue won't pan out. A big disappointment to those of us who looked forward to having another concert venue within walking distance.

It has been a long road …

I want to share an update, albeit a painful one for our artists and supporters. The opening of Double Door in the Uptown Wilson Theatre location as previously announced is not moving forward.

Staying true to what made Double Door Double Door matters. This isn’t an ending — it’s a pivot. We’re actively exploring other locations and opportunities that better align with our vision. And we think we have found one! This is all in an effort to keep the heart and soul of music and the Double Door moving forward.

In the meantime, we’re keeping the brand alive through pop-ups, collaborations, and special moments. Our first step is a collaboration with Gallery Cabaret in Bucktown. For almost 40 years Gallery Cabaret has been a haven for artists and musicians looking to showcase their craft in an eclectic neighborhood setting.

We are updating the sound, the music calendar, and the overall vibe that made Double Door the best place to see music, but more importantly, to be part of what makes Chicago’s scene the best in the country.

We will be reopening the bar on March 1st. Come and see us and check it out.

We hope you’ll stay with us, follow along, and be part of what comes next.
