Today we honor our Veterans, who selflessly served our country. My family has a proud record of Army service going back 7 generations.
My great (x5) grandfather Col. Richard Anderson fought in the Revolutionary War with George Washington- he crossed the Potomac in the boat with him! His son, my Great (x4) grandfather Robert Anderson commanded and defended Ft. Sumter against the confederates in the first battle of the Civil war. My favorite veterans are my Grandpa John who served in Vietnam, and my Dad, proud West Point grad who served on a task force in Operation Provide Comfort. There is even a cool Anderson Family monument at West Point if you ever get the chance to visit. Go hug your favorite veteran today and thank them for their service!

I’m going to start sharing more of my Miss Land of Lincoln content on this page too. I had the best time with team Miss Capital City at the Springfield Shriners Circus! Jordynn Miss Land of Lincoln Teen Mia, Miss Independence Teen and I spent Sunday selling boxes of cotton candy and popcorn to raise money for Shriners Children’s Hospitals. We found time to have ALL the circus fun too! Mia Fritsch-Anderson

It was an honor to speak last week representing Chicago’s lung compromised who ride the and deserve a safe ride! Thank you and Alderman Conway for including me. Last Wednesday, 34th Ward Alderman Bill Conway, alongside RHA staff, introduced a resolution calling for stronger enforcement of the Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) ban on .
“When people smoke on the CTA, they are putting at risk the health of all riders, especially those living with and other ,” said RHA’s Senior Director of Strategy, Programs & Policy, Erica Salem. “Laws are only as strong as their enforcement, so we urge the CTA to work with local police to address this issue.”
According to recent Regional Transportation Authority surveys, smoking on trains and buses is the top complaint and rider deterrent.
