We’re looking forward to seeing you at 4 p.m. Sunday at The Church of the Holy Spirit for “Autumnal Lark." ICA’s musicians can’t wait to share this splendid program with you!
Jay Ungar’s "Ashokan Farewell" reflects his time at a summer camp in the Catskills. Charles Rochester Young’s "Song of the Lark" evokes its namesake painting’s placid atmosphere. "Probono," inspired by a Debussy sonata, is described by composer Sydney Guillaume as “whimsical and freeing.” Miguel del Águila’s contemplative "Herbsttag" draws on Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem of the same name. And the concert concludes with Ludwig Thuille’s Sextet in B-flat Major, a hidden gem that bridges classical and Romantic styles.
“Autumnal Lark” will feature ICA’s Artistic Director Patrick Godon, piano; Anna Velzo, oboe; Oto Carrillo, horn; Youming Chen, viola; and Marguerite Lynn Williams, harp. They’re joined by guest artists Mary Stolper, flute; John Bruce Yeh, clarinet; and Karl Rzasa, bassoon.
General admission is FREE! A $20 suggested donation per person helps makes it possible for ICA to share the love of chamber music available with everyone in our community.
