In 1998, Sal worked up the courage to ask for Allison's number on a dance floor while Brown Eyed Girl played. He called her the next day. Twenty-five years, three kids, and a whole life later — here they are.

In 2022, Allison was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She fought through surgery and treatment with incredible strength. Then came a seizure, and news that it had spread to her brain. Then, after 17 months of clear scans, to her bones. She is still fighting.

As their 25th anniversary approached, they wanted to celebrate it fully — surrounded by family, friends, flowers, and music. So a community of wish granters in Newport, Rhode Island made that happen. There were toasts, a packed dance floor, and vows that said everything:

We chose each other then. We choose each other still.

To Allison, Sal, and your three beautiful children — thank you for sharing this with us. 💛

We're 30 wishes away from something we've been dreaming about since the very beginning.

Since our founding, Wish Upon a Wedding has granted 370 wedding wishes to couples facing terminal illness. 370 days where love got to take center stage, even in the middle of the hardest season of someone's life.

Wish #400 is within reach.

To get there, we're asking 400 people to give just $30. That's it. $30 becomes a bouquet. A wedding cake. A first kiss. A first dance.

One day where a couple sets aside doctor's appointments and treatment schedules and simply celebrates the love that got them through it all.

The couples waiting for their wish don't know you yet. But your $30 will be part of the reason their day happens.

Will you be one of 400?

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our friend Samantha.

Surrounded by the people who loved her most, Samantha and Joseph stood together and recommitted their vows — a beautiful, tender pause in the middle of one of life's hardest chapters. Metastatic breast cancer could not diminish the love between them. If anything, it only made it more visible, more radiant, more real.

Their day was filled with the warmth of community, the generosity of strangers who became part of their story, and the quiet, powerful reminder that love doesn't need perfect circumstances to be profound. Samantha and Joseph's bond and their bravery in choosing to celebrate it is something we will carry with us always.

To Joseph and everyone who held Samantha close: we are thinking of you. We hope the memory of that day remains a source of comfort and light in the days ahead.

To the vendors who gave so generously to make this celebration possible, thank you. Your kindness became part of a love story that will never be forgotten.

It was an Anti-Valentine's Day party that neither of them actually wanted to be at. Somewhere on the back patio, Lacey stopped Steven, and they ended up on a couch together for the rest of the night talking. Steven asked her out the next day. They wrote letters to each other every single day after that.

A few years in, Lacey became the unexpected guardian of her sister's two little kids. Steven didn't flinch. He just stepped in and loved them like his own. They got married in the woods in 2019, and eventually welcomed a baby of their own too.

Then in 2023, something started to feel wrong. Exhaustion, muscle twitches, unexplained falls. After months of tests, Lacey was diagnosed with ALS.

We got to grant their vow renewal wish, and honestly, we were so moved by this family before the day even began. The life they've built together, the way they've kept choosing each other through all of it, it's something extraordinary.

Thank you to every vendor who showed up for them. And thank you, Lacey and Steven, for letting us be a small part of your story. 🤍

Here's something most people don't know.

There are florists, photographers, venues, planners, and bakers all over the country who've quietly decided that a terminal diagnosis shouldn't be the reason a couple doesn't get their wedding day.

They donate their work. Sometimes on weeks' notice, sometimes on days' so that couples facing the unthinkable can still walk down an aisle. Still cut a cake. Still have the photos.

That's what we do. We connect those vendors to the couples who need them.
Because love doesn't run out of time. It runs toward it.

If you're facing a terminal diagnosis and dreaming of your wedding day or you know someone who is please apply at the link in bio. 🤍

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beautiful friend, Lynda. 🤍

Lynda and David had been married for 37 years, and when her cancer returned and spread, they wanted to celebrate their love with a vow renewal. Together with their family and closest loved ones, they renewed their vows surrounded by endless flowers, a sparkly silver gown, and a dance that nobody in that room will ever forget.

To David and the entire family, we are holding you close in our hearts. We feel incredibly honored that we were able to witness the love you shared and to be a small part of such a meaningful day. Sending all our love as you navigate this profound loss. 🤍
