We are saddened to share the passing of our friend, Ruth.

In August 2022, we had the honor of granting Ruth and Jason their vow renewal in Long Beach, California. It was a beautiful day, full of love and laughter, surrounded by the people who meant the most to them. For one afternoon, the weight of Ruth's cancer diagnosis gave way to something else entirely: just the two of them, celebrating the life they had built together.

Ruth left a mark on everyone who knew her story. We are thinking of Jason and her family, and holding them close during this time. ❤️

This Mother’s Day, we honor the moms behind our wishes 💛

Jakeen stopped Ronisha in a D.C. metro station in 2020 and struck up a conversation. He made sure to see her again the very next day. What started as a simple hello turned into dating, then deep love, then a blended family—raising Ronisha’s young daughter together and welcoming two more children of their own.

In 2025, persistent stomach pain led to a devastating diagnosis: stage 4 stomach cancer that had already spread to his lung. Jakeen began aggressive treatment, but his health continued to decline.

Time became the most precious thing they had left, so our team moved fast. An incredible group of wish granters came together to create a wedding for them. But as the day approached, Jakeen’s condition worsened. He was admitted to the ICU.

Our team didn’t cancel. They pivoted. The hospital became the venue.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Jakeen and Ronisha were married in a bedside ceremony, followed by an intimate reception right there in the hospital. The entire day was filled with love, joy, and moments this family will hold onto forever.

Just hours after saying “I do,” Jakeen passed away.

Our hearts are with Ronisha and their three children as they honor his life and hold tight to these memories.

We don’t wait for perfect circumstances. We show up where they are.

It is with great sadness that our friend, Kristina, has passed away.

Earlier this year, we had the honor of granting Kristina and Antoine’s beautiful vow renewal. It was a day filled with love, meaning, and joy.

Kristina and Antoine’s story began in high school and only grew stronger with time. We are so grateful to have been part of their journey, especially during a moment when time was so precious.

Our hearts go out to Antoine and their entire family as they navigate this profound loss. Sending love, comfort, and strength in the days ahead. 🤍

It is with great sadness that we share that our friend, Elby, has passed away.

We were privileged to grant Elby and Jaclyn's wish in December 2023. It was a day filled with friends and hugs and one that sweet Jaclyn will never forget.

Elby's love story with Jaclyn was beautiful, and we were honored to help them celebrate it when time was precious. The joy in that room, the community that showed up, the way Elby looked at Jaclyn—these are the moments that remind us why this work matters.

Sending so many hugs and so much love to Jaclyn and their entire family as they mourn this profound loss. 🤍

Tina and Jeff first met in college in 2009, when Jeff, freshly returned from serving in Iraq, joined one of Tina's study groups. They fell in love, built a life together, and in 2016, said "I do" in their friend's backyard.

Years later, while pregnant with twins, Tina discovered a rapidly growing lump in her neck. The biopsy confirmed stage 4 cancer. At just 20 weeks pregnant, she had to wait 12 more weeks to safely deliver before beginning an aggressive regimen of chemotherapy and radiation at Stanford. Her cancer has since progressed to her liver.

And yet, through it all, Tina remains a light. Her strength and determination to show up for her five children and Jeff each day is extraordinary.

We were deeply honored to help bring their vow renewal to life. It was a day filled with love, joy, and the kind of moments that remind us all what truly matters.

Because when time becomes uncertain, celebrating love becomes urgent. And none of this would be possible without the generosity of vendors who show up and make the impossible happen.
