Free Construction Laborer Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program
Starts in October 2020


The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA) and the Institute for Workforce Education (IWE), a division of St. Augustine College, offer the Construction Laborer Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program, which will be offered in Chicago, with emphasis in the Pilsen/Little Village/Brighton Park area, starting in October 2020. This program prepares individuals for entrance into apprenticeship programs in the construction trades and for employment opportunities in the construction industry, that lead to well-paid careers.

It covers the skills required to sit in an apprenticeship interview and prepares them with the skills to take an apprenticeship entrance exam. It also teaches participants the basic construction skills they need in order to successfully start a career in the construction industry. This program is designed with a very interactive and hands-on approach, based on adult learning theory.
