National Association of Hispanic Journalist (NAHJ) Chicago Professional Chapter

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) is dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry. Established in April 1984, NAHJ created a national voice and unified vision for all Hispanic journalists. As the local NAHJ Chicago Professionals Chapter, our goals are to empower Hispanic journalists and communicators, provide opportunities for leadership and growth, and engage educational opportunities that include, multimedia workshops, lectures, panels and mentoring. Furthermore, this NAHJ chapter will strive to support Hispanics in attaining advanced employment opportunities that serve as a catalyst for ethnically diverse newsrooms throughout the Midwest.

¡Enhorabuena! Congratulations to NAHJ Chicago member Laura Rodríguez Presa.
She was awared the 2025 Reporter of the Year by the Illinois Press Association.
Rodríguez Presa also received a Pulitzer Prize for her reporting on immigration in Chicago.

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists Chicago Chapter (NAHJ-Chicago) is sharing this message to alert local journalists and visiting colleagues about reports of an unannounced and warrantless visit by federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture in Humboldt Park on Tuesday, July 8.

With the growing impact of artificial intelligence on news dissemination, the challenge of identifying and countering misinformation is more pressing than ever.
