A Letter from the Executive Director

Dear Third Coast Baroque Community,

With a heavy heart and on behalf of my esteemed co-founders Rubén Dubrovsky (Artistic Director) and Nathalie Colas (Soprano & Director of Community Engagement), in addition to our Board of Directors, I sadly announce the closure of Third Coast Baroque (TCB). Established in 2016, TCB has spent seven remarkable years dedicated to promoting and celebrating Baroque music in and around Chicago.

Third Coast Percussion opens its season on September 2 with a hometown performance!

Join TCP on Saturday, 9/2, at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts as they perform LIVE all of the music from their new album, "Between Breaths."

The full album will be available on September 8 from Cedille Records with world premiere recordings of music by Ayanna Woods, Tyondai Braxton, Gemma Peacocke, Missy Mazzoli, and Third Coast Percussion.

Beyond Baroque Music Festival Canceled, Third Coast Baroque Looking to the Future

We regret to announce the cancellation of Third Coast Baroque’s highly anticipated, inaugural Beyond Baroque Festival. The music festival was originally scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 3, 2023.

Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances beyond our control have compelled us to make this difficult decision.

We extend our sincerest apologies to all the artists, sponsors, partners, and music enthusiasts who have been eagerly looking forward to the festival. We understand the excitement and anticipation that surrounded this event, and we share everyone’s disappointment.

Ticket holders can rest assured that our team is working diligently to process full refunds for all purchased tickets. Details regarding the refund process will be communicated directly to ticket holders via email and through our website. We kindly request your patience and understanding as we work through this process.

Third Coast Baroque remains committed to “reframing early music.” Beyond Baroque was envisioned as a multi-genre event that would connect Baroque music with the sounds of today and spotlight neglected and often hidden origins of African and Latin American influences on the era’s European composers.

We look forward to presenting an exceptional 2023-2024 concert season, to be announced in the near future.

To stay connected, we’ll also be posting “Throwback Thursdays” concert videos to our Facebook and Instagram platforms.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supporters, sponsors, and all those who shared in our excitement. Your enthusiasm and encouragement have been invaluable to us, and we are sincerely grateful for your continued support.
