UIC Men's Basketball is headed to the NIT for the second time in program history.

The Flames tipoff against #2 seed California on
Wednesday March 18th at 10pm (CT).

Dear Team:

Good morning from St. Louis.

I’m excited to share that UIC Men’s Basketball defeated Drake in the Arch Madness semifinals to advance to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Game.

For the first time in program history, our men’s basketball program is headed to the MVC Championship Game.

We will play Northern Iowa, who defeated Bradley in the other semifinal, today at 11:00 AM CST. The game will be nationally televised on CBS.

Our team has shown tremendous resilience and togetherness throughout this tournament, and we are incredibly proud to have the opportunity to compete for a conference championship this morning.

We are on the verge of something historic for UIC Basketball.

Thank you for believing in our program and for your continued support. Quite simply, we would not be in this position without you.

Dear Team,

Good morning. I wanted to share a quick update from St. Louis.

In the quarterfinal game last night, our team had a great performance and defeated the #4 seed Murray State Racers 92–79. It was a terrific effort by our players and staff, and we are excited to keep our run going at Arch Madness.

With the win, we have advanced to the Missouri Valley Conference Semifinals today at 2:30 PM CST vs. Drake, with the game being televised on CBS Sports Network.

Drake pulled off an upset earlier yesterday, defeating the #1 seed Belmont Bruins in the game prior to ours. With both teams advancing, a berth in the MVC Championship Game is on the line this afternoon.

Losing to UIC in 2OT

Dear Team,
We have officially wrapped up the regular season. March Madness is here!

While our final game at Indiana State yesterday was disappointing, it also gives us an important opportunity to refocus, regroup, and prepare for what matters most — postseason play.

I am proud to share that we finished the regular season with 12 Missouri Valley Conference wins — a school record — and tied for 3rd place in the league. That milestone is a powerful reflection of the growth and direction of our program.

Arch Madness – St. Louis

We will play Murray State on Friday, March 6th at 2:30 PM CST in the 4/5 game at Arch Madness in St. Louis.
With a win, we would advance to face #1 Belmont in the semifinals on Saturday.

If anyone is planning to attend the tournament, we would be happy to provide ticket information and assist however we can. We would love to see our supporters in St. Louis.

Postseason Outlook

There are several possible postseason scenarios ahead:

Win Arch Madness – We earn the Missouri Valley’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. This is our clear #1 goal and full focus.

At-Large NIT Consideration – If we fall short in St. Louis, there is a possibility we could be eligible for an at-large bid to the NIT.

Right now, our full attention is on Friday at 2:30 PM.

I will continue to keep everyone updated as we move through postseason play. Once the season concludes, I will be reaching out to share our vision and plan for next year and how we can continue growing the UIC Rebuilders Club.

Quite simply, without this group, we would not have been able to achieve what we have this season. Your belief, generosity, and support have directly impacted our program’s growth.

We are grateful — and we are not done yet.

Dear Team,
I wanted to share a quick update as we head down the final stretch of the regular season.

Last night, we earned a big road win at Evansville, 84–46. It was the largest road victory in the last 50 years for UIC Men’s Basketball! That victory came on the heels of a strong home win over Illinois State last Sunday. With three regular-season games remaining, we are battling for a top seed in the conference tournament and have now won 11 of our last 13 games.

With only one senior in our starting lineup, we are positioned to return a strong core next season while continuing to build momentum for the future.
