Mom’s Pamper Day was full of rest, care, laughter, and love.

A huge thank you to Neuberger for sponsoring this special day and for showing up to volunteer with our moms. Because of your support, our moms were able to enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating experience centered on self-care.

At A House in Austin, we believe self-care does not always have to be big or expensive. Sometimes it looks like small, consistent moments — getting your nails done, enjoying a facial, sharing a meal, picking out something beautiful to wear, or simply having a few hours where someone else is taking care of you.

Thank you to every volunteer who helped make the day special — from nails and facials to baked goods, decorating, food prep, shopping support, and all the little behind-the-scenes details.

Our moms deserve to be poured into, and we are grateful for everyone who helped us do just that.

The Velvet Bloom Tea was more than a fundraising event. It was another beautiful leap for A House In Austin.

We brought women together to rest, connect, be celebrated, and honor the things that help restore us. The Big Blue House was transformed into a floral and tea-filled experience, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible.

Thank you to our guests, volunteers, subcommittee, sponsors, and in-kind partners for showing up with such care.

Because of your support, Velvet Bloom Tea raised over $5,000 for A House In Austin. We are now working toward reaching $6,000 before the end of the month.

If you attended and had a beautiful time — or if you were unable to make it but still want to support — we invite you to give, share the event, and tell a friend about our work.

We had a beautiful time celebrating together.

This year, we returned to our old stomping ground — hosting our Easter Egg Hunt at Original Providence Baptist Church.

For those who have been around for a while, Original Providence opened their doors to us during a pivotal season — while our home was being renovated
To come back and celebrate there with our families meant something.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it special.

A simple trip to the laundromat adds up.
$2.50 to get there. $2.50 to get back.
$6–$10 to wash.
$4–$8 to dry. Detergent.
Dryer sheets. Bags.
That’s $20–$30 per visit — just to keep clothes clean.

At A House in Austin, we provide laundry access at no cost. Detergent. Dryer sheets. Bags. Space. Families are encouraged to do laundry during programming — while their children are engaged, learning, and cared for. Because support should meet real needs. And dignity should never be out of reach.

The Love Fridge is one of the ways we show up for our community — making food accessible and available when it’s needed. Take what you need. Leave what you can.

This work is made possible through partnership.

The Community Fridge Project helps keep the fridge stocked, clean, and organized — and they do an incredible job making sure it remains a reliable resource for the neighborhood.t’s how community works.

Did you check out our March newsletter? If so, you may have seen that diapers and wipes are one of the greatest ongoing needs for the families we serve. We support families with children ages 0–5 — which means we go through at least 30 packs of diapers and wipes every week.

This is not a one-time need. It’s constant. If you’re able, we ask that when you purchase a pack of diapers, you also grab a pack of wipes to go with it.

You can: • Drop off at 533 N Pine, Chicago, IL 60644 •

Have items delivered • Shop directly through our link: ahouseinaustin.org/diaper-drive Every pack helps us continue showing up for families in a real, practical way.

If you’ve been to the Big Blue House lately, you’ve seen the construction — streets torn up as the city replaces pipes. So for our recent all-day staff meeting, we stepped outside and spent time at our neighborhood spot, Spill the Beans. Good food, good space, and time to connect as a team. We’re grateful for local spaces that welcome us in — and for moments that allow us to pause, reflect, and keep building together.

Volunteers show up in so many ways. Sometimes they cut fruit and prepare breakfast for My Wonder Kids. Sometimes they lead a baking class. Sometimes they drop off meals for parent nights. Sometimes they pick up and deliver produce for families. And sometimes… they do all of it. That’s Nancy. We’re grateful for volunteers like her who go above and beyond. Whether you can do one thing or many, there’s a place for you here. Join us: ahouseinaustin.org/volunteer
