In 2011, Nick Mirkopoulos transformed what was a 50-acre industrial lot in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago into what is today – the largest sound stage for film in the U.S. Movie and TV shows filmed here, including Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Empire, have brought thousands of jobs to North Lawndale and over a billion dollars of revenue to our city and state. His love for Chicago and hi

s generous, devoted attention to disadvantaged youth and their families coalesced into a strong desire to make a real difference in their lives by making industry-focused resources available to them. CineCares is now devoted to training and employing area residents through education and job training in TV & Film.

The CineCares good news train continues down the track with being voted into IATSE Local 476! Marlon trained in the department on NBCUniversal's Chicago Med and never looked back. He is the 22nd member to be voted into ! Congratulations Marlon!

As Rashad continues his professional rise, he just became the right-hand man to the Chief Operating Officer of ! Global studio operations is a whole new ballgame and one for which he is ready.
