💜 Service in Action. Community at Heart. 💜

The members of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) Chicago Central Section proudly volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, joining hands to help fight food insecurity across our community.

Together, our team contributed to an incredible effort that helped repack 19,428 pounds of food, providing the equivalent of 16,280 meals for individuals and families facing hunger throughout the Chicago area.

This day was a powerful reminder that when we come together in service, we create meaningful impact. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s mission and to continue NCNW’s legacy of service, advocacy, and community empowerment.

Thank you to all of our dedicated members who volunteered their time, energy, and compassion to help make a difference.

Together, we can help end hunger—one act of service at a time.

Hall Inductees Mary McLeod Bethune and Jacqueline Cochran are receiving new recognition from their home state of Florida.

In May, the Florida Historical Marker Council approved new historical markers honoring women across 12 counties, including markers recognizing Bethune and Cochran's lasting contributions.

Bethune transformed education and civil rights advocacy, founding Bethune-Cookman University and advising four U.S. presidents. Cochran became one of the most accomplished aviators in history, setting numerous flight records and leading the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during World War II.

These markers help ensure their stories remain visible for future generations, connecting the places they called home with the legacies they left behind.
