On September 15, we hosted a private, informal meeting between members of the business community and the Consul General of Ukraine in Chicago, Kostyantyn Vorona.

The evening had an incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our members had the opportunity to speak with the Consul in a relaxed setting, ask important questions, share their thoughts, and exchange ideas for future collaboration.

During the conversation, Consul General of Ukraine in Chicago, Kostyantyn Vorona, emphasized how important it is for our community to come together in support of Ukraine. Of course, the discussion also touched on the long wait times and high demand for consular services. The Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago serves 11 states, which makes it challenging to meet the needs of such a large community.

That is why Selfreliance Association and Selfreliance Federal Credit Union have joined efforts to support off-site consular sessions, helping make services more accessible and easing some of the pressure on the Consulate.

We are also especially grateful to Farmer’s Milk for their warm hospitality, wonderful welcome, delicious food, and for creating such a cozy and inviting atmosphere for the evening.

Overall, the meeting was open, friendly, and truly meaningful. We are very happy to create opportunities for direct dialogue between the Ukrainian business community, community members, and representatives of Ukraine.

And this is one more benefit of being part of our Members Club. We regularly host private meetings and special events like this that are not always announced on social media and are available exclusively to our members.

The UA2USA Business Index was presented directly to policymakers at the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Ukrainian-founded businesses generate $9 billion per year — that is $90 billion over 10 years.
April 16 marks a milestone — the moment these numbers were shared not in closed circles, but with a wide international audience in one of the most influential places in the world. These figures were heard in Washington, D.C.

To highlight the real impact of Ukrainians on the U.S. economy, the second edition of the Ukrainian-American Business Impact Study has launched. We continue talking about the numbers — because numbers matter.

Ukrainian-founded businesses in the United States generate $55–58 billion in annual revenue, create around 300,000 jobs, and contribute $8–9 billion in taxes every year.

Between 2022 and 2025 alone, Ukrainian businesses paid approximately $32–36 billion in taxes to the U.S. budget.

Today, there are 45,000+ Ukrainian-founded companies across the U.S. — from family-owned restaurants and transportation companies to billion-dollar tech unicorns.

These numbers are being voiced today at the International Ballroom in Washington, DC — and they are voiced with pride.

The numbers are impressive, but we are not stopping here.

Discussion of the first national survey of Ukrainian-founded businesses in the United States 🇺🇦🇺🇸

This important discussion centers on the first-ever national survey of Ukrainian-founded businesses in the United States — and on the leaders helping turn data into real economic action.

During the discussion, Eva Sigaev, President of the Ukrainian American Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UACCI), and Alexander Romanishyn, leader at ISE Group, examined the findings of the survey and what they reveal about the Ukrainian business community’s evolving role in the U.S. economy and in Ukraine’s future.

Entrepreneurs who arrived 30, 20, 10, 5, or just 2 years ago shared a common story: building businesses from scratch, creating jobs, contributing to local economies, and maintaining deep ties to Ukraine.

Key challenges discussed
Access to capital, regulatory complexity, workforce shortages, language barriers, and the long-term impact of war on planning and investment decisions.

Opportunities identified
Ukrainian-founded businesses demonstrate exceptional resilience, strong growth potential, and sectoral diversity — from manufacturing and construction to IT, logistics, healthcare, and agriculture.

A strategic and growing role
Eva Sigaev emphasized the importance of recognizing Ukrainian-founded companies as a serious economic constituency that deserves a seat at the policy table.
Alexander Romanishyn highlighted how data-driven research can guide investment, partnerships, and scalable solutions that benefit both the United States and Ukraine.

This discussion reinforced one key message:
Ukrainian-founded businesses are no longer operating on the margins — they are shaping markets, strengthening bilateral economic ties, and becoming a driving force in Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction.
