Mercedes doesn’t know what a euthanasia date means.

She doesn’t know that September 2, 2026 could be the day her life is taken if nobody steps forward.

She only knows that she is scared.

🚨 13 DOGS. ONE SHELTER. COUNTLESS BROKEN HEARTS. WE CAN’T DO THIS ALONE. 💔🐾

Today, 13 frightened dogs arrived at our shelter.

Some came trembling with fear. Some are painfully thin. Others have untreated wounds, infections, or have clearly gone without love for far too long. They didn’t choose to be abandoned. They didn’t choose to suffer.

But today, they chose to trust us.

As they stepped off the transport vehicle, they looked at us with tired eyes, wagging tails, and a silent plea: “Please don’t let us be forgotten again.”

We promised them they were finally safe.

Now we have to keep that promise.

Thirteen extra mouths to feed. Thirteen warm beds to prepare. Thirteen dogs needing medical examinations, vaccinations, medications, and the care they’ve been denied for so long.

Our shelter is stretched beyond its limits, but turning them away was never an option.

She was exhausted, frightened, and so weak that every step looked painful. Her tiny body carried the weight of neglect, and her eyes told a story no dog should ever have to live. Instead of wagging her tail, she flinched whenever someone came near, as though she expected more cruelty instead of compassion.

Today, Elizabeth is finally safe. For the first time in what may have been weeks, she has a roof over her head and caring hands trying to comfort her. But safety is only the beginning.
